Wal-Mart Midnight DVD Release Party Details!

Wal-Mart has announced details of its midnight DVD release parties-

Twilight fans at Walmart will get the following exclusive content with every purchase of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, a 2-disc DVD or Blu-ray:

  • Bella’s Wedding Special Edition featuring the collectible wedding dress packaging
  • Fabric poster of Bella and Edward’s big day
  • Music videos from Bruno Mars and Christina Perri

Starting at 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, Walmart will throw the ultimate Twilight party with special giveaways*, movie trivia and a bakery stocked with Twilight­-themed treats such as cupcakes and cakes. Walmart shoppers can also catch a cameo appearance from Rosalie Cullen on the retailer’s in-store television network while waiting for the midnight unveil.

The cupcakes and trivia are a great touch, but the Breaking Dawn 2 footage at Target is pretty tough to beat. This is a perfect alternative if you don’t have a participating Target nearby, with 2,700 Wal-Marts taking part.

    Waited in line at Walmart for the Big Party, giveaways, prizes, trivia and cake and all we received was a cupcake. Nothing else!!!  My Sister lives in Loveland, CO and took 6 kids “her 2 kids and 4 friends” and her Walmart did nothing as well asnd no cake, zero, zip, nada. Very, very, very Disappointed. Walmart False Advertised and promised a lot of stuff and didn’t do anything. They promised to do a big party to get people away from Target and then nothing. Again False Advertising. Probably will go somewhere else for Part 2.

    Walmart in Lynnwood Washington dropped the ball too. They barely knew why we were there, they were a 24 hr store but didn’t put up any of their displays, no party, they even lined us up where we could not see the party video clearly and were irritated. It was too late to go anywhere else.

    Same here, it was zero party. They didn’t even unpack the display pack box that was clearly marked “Don’t wait for Rep, display by opening on 03/02/2013″, no giveaways, cupcakes or excitement. I even heard the assistant manager complain. We could hear but not see clearly from the whole line the video that came on at 11:00 saying “welcome to the party”.
