I love the dude playing Stefan…and I LOVE Drew Roy…for GALE in the Hunger Games..hmmm I dont see him as Nahuel at all…but meh make up can do wonders I suppose.

I think they both fit the parts. Not all south americans have to be tanned, there are lots of influences. Yes, it’s not as the book says he should be but then, where is the bronze hair on Edward????
As for Stefan, very good choice, I’m Romanian and he looks as a Romanian. And I like his nose, gives him an air of wickedness and authority somehow. Perfect pick! Hope he won’t have a russian accent though…somehow everyone thinks all Eastern europe speaks russian! we have influences from russian, but romanian is a latin language. Better get that right Scummit! Ask Coppola for advice, he did a marvellous job for Dracula!

I did always picture Nahuel younger, but now that I think about it, he needs to be of a certain age to, perhaps, cause some problems for Jake and Renesmee in the future? LOL Even though Jake has imprinted on her, I just always thought there would still be a love triangle between the three. It would be natural for Nahuel and Renesmee to be drawn to each other in that they are the same breed, ya know? And I like this guy for Stefan. He looks creepy enough to pull it off.

CH’s choices were not based on the exact looks from the book. Otherwise, Nikki would not have been chosen as Rosalie. She is as far away from Rosalie as you can get with her exotic dark hair and skin. The girl is beautiful, but she went through so much torture to get her hair to somewhat of a blonde color. I adore Nikki, but let’s face it. She was chosen because she is close to CH. Eric was not described as asian in the book. I pictured Mike tall, lean and more of a “jock”… we all have our visions of what they should look like, but as long as the cast does their best to bring the characters to life, that’s what I appreciate.

I don’t think so. I actually like his look for Nahuel. He’s got enough of an exotic look for me. And yes, everyone has had to alter their appearance for these movies. Just because an actor looks the part, doesn’t mean they are the best choice for their “acting” The spirit and personality of our characters are so much more important and I think everyone has been one hundred percent dedicated thus far.

I’m not seeing Drew as Nahuel either…maybe they are seeing something we don’t?
I pictured someone a bit older for Stefan though, but this guy I think could pull it off. Of course I’m just going off looks….who know what they sound or act like.

Before reading the text I tried to guess who they’d play. I was kinda right about that Weinberg dude – thought he would be great playing one of the romanians. But as for the other one… Nahuel? Really? Sure, he’s handsome, but… he doesn’t fit the description of Nahuel… at all, IMO.

So I hope this rumour is half-true. XD

I understand that our perceptions of the characters aren’t always going to be adhered to, and that the skill of the actors portraying them is what is inherently important. However, the point I was trying to get across is that the people summit cast for the films should be as close as possible to or at least essentially believable as the person they’re portraying.

Rosalie is a beautiful, young blonde girl from the classic American 1940′s era (essentially), while Eric and the other human cast is from our generation. Despite our differences in how they were pictured while reading the books, they all are relatively easy characters to cast because of their backgrounds. Nahuel, however, is from South America born during the mid 1700′s era (he’s 140 years older than Edward) – an age which I might add had only begun to be victim to colonisation from the Spanish. Therefore he should look more exotic and darker than the “disney-’like” Drew, as this indicates his heritage and age (and the fact that his father has obviously been creating hybrids for a really long time) which is important in the long run because it’s more proof of Nessie’s innocence.

As for the adding make-up to him to get him into character seems quite offensive and slightly racist because rather than having someone naturally so, they’d rather make him look like it to save hassle? It just reminds me of the days when women and blacks weren’t allowed to act in plays, so they coloured the males and dressed them in drag to make up for it…I dunno but that’s how I see it

I wish people would stop saying they need to get someone who looks latin! B/c contrary to what most of you all think, Drew actually does look “latin” so that is just silly to say. He could easily pass for Brazilian, Mexican, Spanish, and tons of other latin nationalities!
There are tons of latin people that don’t look like what you all are categorizing as latin looking!
I swear, some people must think all latin americans look like Nahuel is described!
Most every latin cultured country has a huge array of colors!!!
Get your facts strait before saying ridiculous things… *exasperated sigh*

Oh great another person associated with Miley Cyrus. Drew Roy played Jesse on Hannah Montana. I looked him up on IMDB.

It’s hard trying to find actors who are from every nation as said in the book. Sometimes you need to just get the easier option, seeing as it’s difficult to find someone who is, let’s say..Indian, with an American accent and is willing to work the times and hours in the movies.
