    I guess it could also be the fact that they have grown up with the legends of the shape-shifters and/ or she has the similar attributes that Bella has to understanding the supernatural without fear.
    She also can be in a slow reacting shock stage. There’s a thing called fight or flight, she may be stuck in between.
