Stephenie Meyer Clears up Rumor About Lionsgate

Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer has cleared up the rumors that started after Variety reporter Josh Dickey said she was “deeply annoyed” by Lionsgate suggesting they’d support another movie during an analyst call.

Hey all,

Just wanted to clear up a little rumor making the rounds. I have absolutely no issues with anyone at Lionsgate. Far from being a negative thing, it’s actually a very nice feeling to know that both Lionsgate and Summit would like to make another Twilight movie if I were ever to write another Twilight book. So, thanks for the support, Lionsgate and Summit. I look forward to working for the first time with new friends at Lionsgate and working again with my old friends at Summit!

    I think she is done with this Saga and prob won’t write another book, but I would LOVE for her to finish Midnight Sun! :)

    WHICH PART OF THE SAGA IS DONE DON’T YOU(THE PEOPLE AT LIONSGATE) UNDERSTAND?! and to this Josh “Dickey” person GET OVER IT IT’S THE END if you all want to do another saga then for the sake of us fans sanity DO IT FOR HBO! make it a mini series but ya know what don’t expect me to see it you all are STONED!

    Did anyone really think she would come out and say anything different?  If you anger the wrong people in this industry you are finished.  I do think that Lionsgate/Summit just needs to be happy with the success of the series and leave it at that.  If I am not mistaken, the last words at the end of Breaking Dawn are “The End”.
    Even if she did write more books, why do they have to be films?  I love the films that have come out and the people who play the characters in them, but these actors I am sure would like to move on too.  Let’s just all be excited for Breaking Dawn 2 in November and move on.  It will be bitter sweet when it is over, just like all love affiars are.

    I would love to see more movies about Twilight, Cullens get bigger than the Volturi clan, so on and so forth.  I would like to see the more.  I hope some of the neat things from the book are in the 5th movie Breaking Dawn prt 2 , like bella jumping of the table and her going near the baby – there are a lot of neat things they just skip over.  The last movie could have been 2hrs long – they cut so much out!

    Josh Dickey just sounds like an a**.. Why do we care what he thinks and what rumors he’s trying to start? “I know what I know..” which is nothing because you’re not Stephenie Meyer!

    She did write another Twilight book. The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. I’m sure if Summit/Lionsgate and Stephenie Meyer agreed, it could easily be made to fit the silver screen.

    I would love to read another twilight book let alone to watch another movie she has created this amazing fantasy world I could put the.books down an i can’t stop watching the movies the chemestry between all the actors an actresses is love to see Jacob an meadow get married or somethin crazy but I think only time will tell if she rights another book she would be my hero if.she did lol

    Now that I think about it why write another entire book why.not work together to make a script for the actors I mean I would love another book but this way she doesn’t have to write one if she doesn’t want to an lions gate can make more movies but do over do it bc there’s a reason there movies not tv series

    If there were to be any more Twilight content all I would care to read or see would be:
    Alice’s back story  (all that mental institution stuff..Don’t we all just adore our Alice?)
    Jacob & Renesme’s relationship (well obvious reasons)
    Jane & Alec’s back story (how cool would that be!)

    “The last words at the end of Breaking Dawn are, ‘The End’.” Absolutely!!  I wouldn’t want anything without Robert playing Edward…and he’s getting too old. It’s fun to see our favorite cast moving on to bigger things! =]

    An interesting premise, but the book was so short; interesting, but little to make a movie worth sitting through.  Eclipse covered enough of the newborns, a movie would be redundant.  Maybe a made for TV movie, though.  Problem is, it would only be acceptable to the Twihards with the original characters, and they all look older now.

    I live and breathe the Twilight story, but refuse to read fanfic of Stephenie’s creation.    If Stephenie wanted to expand the story of the Cullen clan, writing with back stories of Alice, Emmett, (we’ve seen Rosalie’s and Jasper’s), maybe the Denalis, and perhaps more on Jacob and Renesmee, which would of necessity contain Edward and Bella, that is fine with me.  I can never get enough of this family ON PAPER.

    Reading can inspire tremendous imagination based on our visualization of the charactors we have grown to love in the movies, AS WE LAST SAW THEM in the movies…..   But NO MORE NEW MOVIES ON ANY OF THEM OR THE SAGA.     For one thing, Rob, Kristen and Taylor could no longer pass for 17/18, nor the others at their movie age, and it would be unacceptable for any other actors to play these parts.  Breaking Dawn2 should be the culmination of any filming of this story.  Am I alone in this opinion?

    I want Midnight Sun completed, and because Edward had such a history before Bella, and so many times away from Bella, my biggest dream would be an Edward’s point of view of the whole Saga (a bit redundant in places he’s with Bella, but rich with our beloved Edward when he’s not with her, or his private thoughts when he IS with her). Aint gonna happen, so I’ll be happy with Midnight Sun. Of course no movie rendition of this. Without Rob, it would be impossible and unacceptable.
    I’m still waiting to hear about how The Host is coming along in filming.

    i think she got the bug for producing know, and sees the big picture of  it all. IF THE HOST is a bust, i see more Twilight books like, Jacob & Renesme with special guest stewart/patinson , wolf pack vs bad vamps or one last get together cullens/ pack/ nomads vs volturi!!

    Hi twiheart :) There was a post last week or so regarding The Host, the actors involoved and a rough release time…Somewhere I’ve seen pics but can’t remember where :(
    And I agreee with you BD2 will have to be the end! In movie terms it’s never going to work for a sixth film. However I can see scope for spin off books and SM more of less said this in the movie companion (although I can’t 100% believe what was said)!.
    Hope to see you on the re-read…really looking forward to it! :)

    This picture makes me nervous! Are they gonna actually fight, and then Bella and the rest of the Cullens kill the Volturi?! That’s what this picture looks like. I’m okay with a fight, I guess, but I don’t want anyone to die who didn’t die in the book. 
    That would be too much of a change..I hope they don’t kill the Volturi. Do you think that’s what they’re gonna do in this movie?

    Hi ifonly,  good to “see” you.  Yes, I’m looking forward to BD2 re-read.  I tried the Hunger Games re-read but wasn’t terribly wild about the book…pretty good, just not wild about it. 
    Thanks for the info on The Host.  While it could never measure up to our Saga, I thought the book was quite interesting, once I got into it, and am sure I will enjoy the movie.    Take care.

    Hi Hotpinkink (love your name).   True, CGI does amazing things, I just don’t visualize our “family” doing any more Twilight movies.  There was such a change in the characters just from Twilight to Breaking Dawn. The movie part ended where it should, but as I said, I am always up for side stories if written by Stephenie.

    I never expected to love The Host as much as I did! Guess it just shows how great an author SM is. I only read it because she wrote it, I would never have picked it up otherwise and that would have been my loss! :)
