Robert Pattinson to attend ‘Cosmopolis’ Premiere in New York

Rumors of Robert Pattinson canceling his appearance to promote his new film Cosmopolis were circling the other day. However, the rumors were of course false and Rob will be attending the premiere of Cosmopolis in New York on August 13th.

“Cosmopolis is a film that Robert is very proud of and looks forward to supporting,” his rep said in a statement Wednesday. “No confirmed engagements have been canceled. Any reports to the contrary are inaccurate.”

Love that man.  I hope he doesn’t get bombarded with questions that don’t involve the film.

Cosmopolis will be released in theaters in the US on August 17th.

    Of course he will do his promo! He’s very proud of this movie, and from what I’ve seen of the clips, he’s done an awesome job and he SHOULD be proud. Definitely will be seeing this!

    I guess there will be warning to all the interviewers not to ask personal questions. Many celebs do that when they don’t want to be asked about something….but knowing the press there is going to be at least one idiot asking sth about Kristen…hope Rob tells him/her to buzz off!

    You’re right, there’s always one at least…even after warnings! If it were me, I’d make them all write down their questions and only read the ones that pertain to the film. Ha ha!! lol

    I think that the press will most likely be told prior, no personal question other than regarding the film. I would guess thats the norm, but even more so this time. God love him, I can only imagine how hard this is going to be. He such a proud man, but I hope he can remember, he hasn’t done nothing wrong.

    Warning- Do not bring people who are not open to creativity and are not open minded this film is not your regular film you just have to go with the flow of it.
    I thought it was really good and Rob’s acting was fantastic but some people decided to walk out and they were getting paid to see it , so unprofessional .
    I hope everyone enjoys it.

    I’m surprised, I live in France and I’ve seen the movie long ago…weird, we never get the movies first.
    The rumors are ridiculous, he’s not gonna hide in a cave because of what happened, he’s got nothing to be ashamed of.

    I hope Rob’s agent, Miss Stephanie Ritz, is right there on his arm at the premiere. She takes care of our boy, and she won’t let one reporter rip him apart (remember when she dragged him out of the Seacrest interview?!) It will be tough for him, but I think she’s the right lady to keep those reporters on task.

    Can’t wait for the scenes with Paul Giamatti! Both Rob and Paul bring so much energy to their projects. Love risk taking, artsy, statement films! Rob should be proud of his work and as we say in the hair business… Leave the personal stuff at the door. He will just be doing his job at these events- no need to share how he personally feels. This too shall pass….

    True – he’s done nothing wrong but American journalists can be quite invasive in their questioning. As I understand it – the producers can be selective over who is included on the press junket with strict instructions on not to ask him about his personal life. If a journalist attempts to ask him — and some have been known to breach that agreement in the past — they can not be asked back for future junkets. While the journalist can try for the “money question” it can also hurt them in the future.

    That happened with Jennifer Aniston when she was doing “Friends with Money”. The journalist was so bold to show how she attempted to ask the question. Aniston and her two co-stars were being interviewed. She asked Aniston about being with Vince Vaughn and marrying him. Catherine Keener called the journalist on the carpet for this — saying something like “you agreed not to ask any personal questions and here you are”.

    I couldn’t wait to see this movie! And then I went to visit my relatives and friends in Russia and found out that Cosmopolis was on in the movies over there. I didn’t waste any time and went to see it with my friends. I liked the movie and I loved Rob in it. He did a great job. None of my friends are Twilight fans (unlike me:)) and they still liked the movie and Rob’s performance. So it’s not just any bias opinion…lol.. Now I can’t wait to see Cosmopolis in the original, I mean in English. I think I will like it even more.
    And I agree he didn’t do anything wrong to hide or be ashamed of! I hope he will recover from all this nonsense and continue grow as an actor.

    If you all want to stop doating over his personal life and support his work, here is an article listing all the theaters that will be showing his film. It limited release so it may not even been in your state. I know its not in mine.

    I’m pretty sure Roberts PR people are going to handle everything fine. Not only that there is ALWAYS going to be someone, who is going to try and ask the question ” How are you doing after the break up, or What happened? Would you take Kristen back? ”

    That is why PR look over the questions, before they are asked especially enlighten of everything that has happened. If reporters like E!, ET, Access Hollywood are doing their jobs correctly they would stick to the right protocol, which is, asking Robert about his film Cosmopolis. I’m looking forward to seeing this movie. I love Paul Giamatti as an actor too.
