Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos interviewed Robert Pattinson this morning for his film Cosmopolis.

George snuck in THE question….again. Luckily, Rob handled it well. Love that guy. What was GMA thinking using that clip though?

What’s up with these interviewers? Do they really think they are going to get Rob to fall into a blubbering pool of tears and spill his guts out to them on TV? George just kept pushing it and Rob was so smooth with his typical evasive “I’m here to promote a film” answers while hiding behind his coffee mug and box of cereal. And, Jaypat, that’s the same weak clip they used for the Jon Stewart’s show. I thought the same thing, what’s up with this clip??

  • Aurora23❤BTB❤®

Rob handled it well! He is there to talk about his movies and not about his personal life!

  • http://www.breakingdawnmovie.org/ Jay-Peeta-Pat

I know! For Jon Stewart’s cable show, fine. But early morning tv show? My kids in the room watching?

I really thought George would avoid those questions. I was wrong, but Rob did great! I think it made George feel like a tool.

  • IndiesR

Rob handled this well. Love him!

  • ryder

Absolutely, he was a tool. I was truly disappointed in his “pushing”. I think “they” are trying to get Rob to fall apart like Barbara Walter used to do whenever she had personal interviews. On a side note, I’m watching “Americas Sweethearts” with Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones and John Cusack and thinking about the BD2 press junket. Catherine Z. and John C. are a loving couple that made several movies together and she cheated on him right before their final film together wrapped. Now they have to promote this movie together. I’ve always laughed through this movie, but now I’m thinking about our young Twilight Sweethearts in a few months and how awkward it will be. I guess it’s the mom in me.

  • 5ctBauble

Urgh gma interview!! Rob was good at side stepping the question. But I suppose it’s also sad that he can’t genuinely just say ‘I’m good’

  • Loves_Love

I think Kristen was a real cow about her statement apologising directly to Rob. It was never confirmed that they were together so Rob could have handled all this with a lot of ease if she never spoke publicly, IMO she threw him to the lions

  • ifonly2011

Rob knew all this was coming and is handling it with incredible dignity and self respect. He’s obviously well grounded and is prob wondering what all the fuss is about! As he says he didn’t become an actor to share his private life with everyone….

  • Steph

I was just watching that too and couldn’t help to think the same thing!

  • Bailey

I did not see any elephants…..that was a few of him movies ago……Get with the program, George….and stay out of people’s private lives.

  • OhEdward-The Original

I too, thought he handled himself well. I saw the movie last night and really enjoyed it.

    btw – Hiya stranger!

  • http://twitter.com/mastequilla13 cristobal colon

i code rob is talking about kristen, refuring to a
Publicist!! saying in code, should have said nothing get it??

  • Alyssa

yea, I kind of thought he was referring to kristens’ public apology too.

  • Red

I hope every other interviewer gets the message:He’s NOT going to talk about it. Hopefully JK won’t even go there as a joke.

  • team_edwardforever

Rob is so classy! He handled himself extremely well. Looking forward to seeing the movie.

  • Lyss

The nerve of these interviewers, I swear! Rob handles himself so well though.

  • DJ

You know, I never thought about it like that, but your right, nothing was confirmed. Good on Rob to make ‘no comment’ in his own sweet way of doing it. He has never said they were a couple, so why should he start now saying that they aren’t. So proud of Rob, the way he’s handling ‘the lions’.

  • TIDRP – LovesRobX50

    FLOVE HIM

  • winndsinger

It’s sad that he has to worry about this question at every interview, you can see he struggles a little with his answer, sipping the water, stuttering a bit. I think someone had to have coached him a bit on how to answer without REALLY answering, like a politician would have to sidestep certain questions.

I just hate that he can’t just relax and talk about his movie like he used to. In old interviews of his, he’s happy, he’s joking, he’s not so guarded and I miss that. I hope after a few of these interviews everyone just stops asking. Then he can relax and breathe again. LOVE YOU ROB!!

  • Red

Don’t want to read too into that part but I started watching it a few more times…if only that interviewer hadn’t interrupted him in that part lol Ok I shouldn’t be curious -.- moving on

  • http://www.facebook.com/cathy.cook.3363 Cathy Cook

Another good interview, and Rob, for what it’s worth, I don’t think you need a publicist!

  • Loves_Love

Exactly, the way I see it is if she never mentioned their relationship in the statement then we could all be led to believe that they’d broken up before this happened (for those that believed in Robsten), then when Rob got the inevitable questions regarding the “Kristen Stewart has an affair with a married man” scandal then he could easily reply with “it’s not my place to comment on the personal life of my co-stars and friends and I want to respect her privacy”. He could have saved face and been allowed privacy to grieve over the relationship and potentially take her back without looking a fool. However, she named him as the cuckolded boyfriend, the first time she EVER publicly acknowledged their relationship (how nice, after getting caught cheating) and she now makes him feel weak and pitied (not that he should). It’s just real harsh, I wonder WHAT she was thinking making that statement. Did she want to hurt him, or was she desperate thinking that a PDA finally would make him feel validated. If my husband had done that to me what she did to him, so publicly, I’d be so hurt.

As Twihards we all FINALLY got confirmation of the mythical Robsten.. was she just trying to elaborately distract us all from what she had done with an OTT declaration of love.. if that’s the case then sadly she used Rob yet again. Either way I think she handled it dreadfully.

  • klayrahx7

i totally agree and i love how he said that its all of this is like a rollar coaster its exhilarating, but eventually you need a break

  • TeamEdward_Bella4ever

In hind site Kristen probably regrets making that statement, and I’m not making any excuses for her. But, I saw the public aplogy as a last desperate attempt to tell him she loved him and was sorry. He probably was not speaking to her or answering her calls. I think all the media would still be doing the same exact thing now, if she hadn’t made the state publicly. After all they have been seen together for years and it was obvious they were a couple regardless of a confirmation. I hate that Rob is having to go through all this, we all know he hates his personal business, being asked about.

  • LupieLaurel

Yep. Way to go GMA. How ORIGINAL your idea was to use cereal. It’s not like The Daily Show used ice cream ( which is soooooo much more useful when you need to eat away your sorrows ). I commented that I was worried about this interview and rightfully so. Yet again, Rob took the best road he could. Shame on you, GMA and George. So damn interested in the “scoop”.

  • Mizarrow

I felt dreadful after watching that interview. There was something else I felt, too, but can’t put it into words. Did anyone else get the feeling that Rob’s zest for life has been put on hold? Something about his eyes, kinda flat, no sparkle. Here’s hoping that he can fully recover (and quickly.) Boo on George for his questions, but good on you, Rob, for handling it with class.

  • Taylor_is_a_sexy_BEAST

I haven’t watch the video yet. But every time there is video/pic appearance of him I get this sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach. Its not cause I don’t like him (I love Robert) but I’m so nervous to see how he acts and more nervous to how he reacts to the inevitable stupidity of reporters questions. I just need to prep myself to watch. I think it makes me nervous because so far all the news about this scandal has been read and word of mouth but actually seeing the result of this mess just makes all that more real.

  • Taylor_is_a_sexy_BEAST

Just regarding your last statement. This whole situation was a mess and there truly wasn’t “good” way to handle it. Something bad happened and after that its hard to control it.

  • martik0

Seems to me like he is just dreading every personal question that he’s going to get. Poor guy :(

  • iamnotcreative

Watching all the interviews just shows me how much Kristen blew it. Now if she ever wants to promote ANYTHING she is going to be judged so harshly by all these talk show hosts, etc. That is why people, if you want to get some lovin’ from another oven, just break up with the person!! Especially if you’re a celebrity, those paparazzi can catch anything. Why didn’t she go in a freaking hotel.. god you’re so stupid Kristen. A wonderful actress, and I now feel a love hate relationship with you, but jeezzzzzz.

  • TeamEdward_Bella4ever

Thats how I think most of us feel. Before your just reading, now we see Rob and he is gorgeous always. But its hard to see him being put on the spot and to see the hurt in his eyes and the obvious discomfort of them bringing it up over and over again.

  • Loves_Love

There were certainly better ways to handle it. Humiliating him further by confirming that they were in a relationship and she did cheat on him was not the better way.

  • TeamEdward_Bella4ever

They should have used the clip leading up to with Paul Giamatti and Rob.

  • TeamEdward_Bella4ever

For someone that was in politics, you would think he wouldn’t want to stup to gossip rag levels.

  • TeamEdward_Bella4ever

Agreed, he’s better at it than any publicist and he has Nick” to give him advise he can disregard”.

  • TeamEdward_Bella4ever

I hope he won’t, Jimmys had a good relationship with the Twilight cast. I love his interviews with Rob in the past. Be nice Jimmy, you know how us Twi-hards are.

  • TeamEdward_Bella4ever

Yes, most everyone has mentioned his eyes, that the light has gone out of them. But that is to be expected, I don’t think anyone thought he would come out like everything was ok. When your world has completely turned up side down, it takes awhile to come to terms with it.

  • Taylor_is_a_sexy_BEAST

I don’t think she was thinking clearly. Some was most likley pressuring her to say something so she gave in. And considering the circumstances she would be more willing to peer(publicist) pressure since this event is pretty bad and her emotional state is not very level. When people make bad choices and they must respond quickly they don’t always consider all the angles and clearly she wasn’t. What happened, happened. Now its up to them to clean it up.

  • Nickyw82

I really think it’s time that these interviewers realise that Robert is way too private and dignified to ever answer “THE QUESTION”. He is never going to say anything about the debacle, no matter how many times he is prodded to do so. I think that in a few year’s time he may grant an exclusive interview, almost like Rihanna has recently done with Oprah (regarding the Chris Brown issue), but while things are still so fresh and painful he won’t say anything. He is obviously hurting, you can see the change in the photos of him (he has lost weight etc), but he is clearly focusing on his career, which is the right thing for him to do right now. He is only 26 and has a long career in acting ahead of him. Also, I think it is hurtful to keep bringing up this issue.. imagine being in his shoes? Surely you want to get on with your life, even though you probably still love the person who hurt you? If they respect him, they would let it go…

  • Loves_Love

I agree that there was undoubtedly pressure from someone to make that statement, but really what are publicists interested in? The money their client makes or the person the client cheated on. Kristen’s been in this industry for many years, she is not oblivious to the fact that a publicist is there to protect your interest and no-one else’s. What grates on me more and more since seeing Rob return to the red carpet is he clearly still does not want to discuss his private live, her statement involving him has dragged him in unnecessarily. The publicist obvs felt “give the fans what they want, a public declaration of love to Rob” it’s what we’ve all wanted to see for a long time. Unfortunately it was done to try and save her sinking and not to save Rob’s feelings. Watching him in interviews it’s clear that’s the last thing he would ever have wanted.. she was with the guy three years, she should know him well enough by now, surely this was the last ounze of respect she could give him, to keep quiet.

I would feel for the girl if i felt this was her decision, but let’s be honest we all think a publicist put pressure on her for this and we aren’t daft enough to think that Kristen doesn’t understand what drives a publicist.

  • TeamEdward_Bella4ever

They respect no one,all they respect is how much dirt they can get out of someone else’s pain.

  • Switzerland

Yes! That is EXACTLY what I have been thinking! NO NEED FOR A PUBLICIST whatsoever! I LOVE that he keeps his cool and changes the subject in a very fun way. I really think that a publicist would never do Rob justice and this is why I love Rob because he never says anything to hurt anyone and avoids awkward, personal questions with such comical answers. It is very refreshing!

  • http://www.breakingdawnmovie.org/ Jay-Peeta-Pat

Exactly! I really thought George wouldn’t stoop that low.
