The Twilight Saga screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg talked with Pop Sugar TV on the red carpet at the 2010 Emmy Awards August 28th.   Melissa  is one of the screenwriters for the Emmy nominated Dexter. 

Melissa talked about working on the Breaking Dawn script!   Don’t hold back Melissa and Bill!   We want it all!

    I agree. But if you think about it, it’s more like she assumes everyone has read the books so she doesn’t need to put things like the mind reading into the movies…
    I think that is why she’s effed up so much with these scripts. IMO
    She ASSUMES too much. And that everyone has read the books… and that has a lot to do with her messing so much up…
    Not to mention adding too much…
    Let’s just hope BC and SM put her into check for these last 2!!!

    Idk. It would be nice to have the movies close to the books instead of just the main ideas but that’s how it is. I see the movies and the books as two separate things now, cause when I go back to read the books, everything is so.. different. You know?

    umm well of course rob and kristen are excited for ‘those’ scenes! they’ve been practising all summer!

    i dont think she needs to worry about them ‘holding back’. but perhaps about them keeping the movie PG13 and about all the millions of twi fans who will be fainting/hyperventilating/going into cardiac arrest/being EXTREMELY turned on…

    I just wish first they shoot Isle Esme scene. Because till this scene is done we fans will become crazy with all this news about “how honeymoon will be”, ” where it’ll be done”. Ugh.

    I know… Stephenie said in her interview that she cried and walked out of the dailies and threw a fit over the way they handled Jake, Bella and Edward at school in Eclipse… it was so out of character for Bella….

    She’s not assuming.. I think she didn’t read the books but got cliff notes…
    Here’s why:

    • EDWARD’S FIGHTING SKILLS: he would not get his butt kicked that fast because he can read his opponents mind and counter move… and Alice would have seen him coming and moved so he couldn’t grab her throat.. not that ANY of that happened in the book…

    • ECLIPSE: Training… only Jasper had a chance to bring down Edward as he was the most experienced fighter but they ended up calling it a drawl… the movie had Edward turning his back and Carlise taking him down… NOW… IF EDWARD CAN READ MINDS… COULD CARLISE TAKE HIM DOWN WITH HIS BACK TURNED… NO WAY!!! Plus, Victoria never got her hands on Edward..

    over and over and over she shows her lack of understanding and knowledge. it is really sad…

    I wonder what face Edward would make when he finds out…during the actual birth…MR would be capable of doing it, probably it would go like this:
    Carlisle: Son, there has been a complication…
    Edward (frantic): is Bella alright??
    Carlisle: Edward, calmn down, she’s perfectly fine. It’s the baby.
    Edward (less frantic): What about it?
    Carlisle: It’s…uhm…got a tail.

    Is that true of SM? I didn’t read that. What is the point of having the author as an advisor if you can’t even make her happy? If she’s nothappy, the fans will not be happy! There is a way to make Bella appear independent without making Edward look like a wuss. MR has not figured that out yet!

    As a screenwriter, MR has a habit of changing pivotal scenes and lines, but then does not explain to the audience that has not read the books why that particular character is doing what they are doing! No wonder the audience that has not experienced the books thinks it’s crapola!

    Your right! I don’t know why its so hard for her to keep true to the books. I know its not easy adapting a book into a movie. But seriously, she can do a lot better. I’ve read some fans versions and they are closer to the books than MR screenwriting.

    YES! The fans understand this saga better than the actual screenwriter. That is not good. She really does have a different version of each character in her head. To her, it’s her story. Let’s make Edward a wuss, Jake the romantic hero and Bella, indifferent to everything Edward does, says or feels. Oh, and let’s not forget adding insignificant characters that just waste space that could have went to.. oh, I don’t know.. BLOOD TYPING!!! *cough*buttcracksanta/waitress*cough*

    LOL @ “little nudger” Awww…. I am one of the Renesmee lovers. So many people wanted it to be just Edward and Bella, a big, bloody battle at the end.. SM had every intention ending this saga happy. If you want to read the other versions, go read ff. No one has a right to tell the author what should have happened.

    There are so many things that would have explained the story more, but it just ended up turning into a cultish kind of movie, which I enjoy watching, of course. They had more freedom back then, before the fans came out in millions and demanded to stay true to the books!

    SHE DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING!!!! SHE DOESN’T UNDERSTAND NEITHER THE CHARACTERS OR THE BOOK!!! she has done a mess with every character and their personalities!! if she thinks that only beacuse she is giving use the sex scene, the rest wouldn’t matter, she is SOOO WRONG!!

    When I saw Eclipse, I winced at all the scenes where Bella was a major B. Then I was like.. ‘hm looks like she wears the pants in this relationship..’
    She was snapping at him so many times in Eclipse. It was quite sad. :9 & you know, Edward was so .. calm through it all. I wonder what it would be like if he argued back. Lol

    Yeah. I agree with you.
    @”Edward was so .. calm through it all.” You know that’s probably one of the main reasons why most of us love Edward. He’s very kind, he has never been rude to Bella. Even when Bella cheated him while running to Jacob or kissed him -Edward was still calm. He’s the man whom many women dream of. But for me all these are acceptable only in the book (about Edward’s being calm) because Bella does all these Jacob things not in front of Edward as she did in the movie like running in front of him, kissing in front of him etc. To accept all these you really must be vampire .LOL. No, MR is definitely Team Jacob.

    oh wow! I didn’t know that, at least now I don’t feel bad for doing the same thing at the movie theater, well I didn’t walk out of it but I did threw a fit at my seat I was so mad I cried *embarrasing* but I just couldn’t understand WHY MR?! WHY?!! I was like where were you SM?! now I know she was crying also, the good thing was when I watched the movie the first time, the theater was full of people that love EDward, so we were all feeling the same kind of pain! ugh! just thinking about it gives me the chills!
