New Vamp Henri Written into BD2 Screenplay, More “Great Surprises” in Store

Some new details emerged about Breaking Dawn 2 recruit Amadou Ly at the Toscars or “Brit Oscars” in LA today. His character Henri is not in the book-

We adored talking to Breaking Dawn Part 2 star Amadou Ly, whose character, French vampire Henri was written into the screenplay. We asked if Henri was on the side of the Volturi or the Cullens, but that is being kept under wraps. “I would love to tell you,” Ly said with a smirk. Damn you, sir! ”We have a lot of great surprises for the fans.”

    Okay, I’m hoping if they are adding some, they are eliminating some of the other random ones….Thats the part of the book I hated was when they introduced everyone like bam bam bam. Oye vey.

    Really?! I loved all of them! It’s an essential part to the story; I truly hope they didn’t cut any out..imagine how cool it will be on screen to see so many new vampires! We’ve haven’t seen that many, really, just cullens and a few volturi (we only saw the newborns briefly throughout eclipse). I know it’s confusing to read about all of them, but to actually see them on screen would be so cool. All different vamps from different parts of the world, I really loved it.

    BREAKING DAWN PART 2 ,THIS ISNT GOING TO BE THE LAST ONE OF THE TWILIGHT MOVIES IT CANT BE IF THERE ADD MORE ACTORS AND SCENES AND AFTER READING THE BOOK I FEEL THERE WILL YET BE ANOTHER PART THAT WOULD MAKE IT THE THE LAST,BUT I ALSO THINK THEY SHOULD MAKE THE WHOLE TWILIGHT SAGA INTO A SERIES WITH ALL THE SAME ACTORS AND ACTRESSES ,DONT CHANGE A THING.

    i agree :) even though wehn i heard this i think it was a bit weird, but i think its a good thing that they are mixing it up a little- like in newmoon and eclipse, remeber when they wrote out Ben- Angelas bf??

    I agree though, I had hardly enough time to adjust to Renesmee. They introduced all these new (random) characters really quickly and I forget about them most of the time.

    Well Stephenie Meyer doesn’t like the idea of them making more Twilight movies so if she doesn’t approve there’s nothing Summit/Lionsgate can do cause it would be copyright infringement.

    The first time I heard of this was back in November from some red carpet interviews the actors Amadou Ly and Janelle Froehlich gave. Amadou is playing Henri, and Janelle is playing Yvette. Both new characters and having extra vampire gifts. they hinted on being on both sides, but we’ll have to wait and see more for ourselves.

    What I don’t get is why did they add more vampires? If they needed some with different or other vamp-gifts why not change a little bit those that already existed in the book? They were like 30…

    And has anyone heard anything about Kachiri? Did they write out her character? ‘Cause she was the one who helped Alice & Jasper find more hybrids because Alice couldn’t “see” them. :(

    For those of you complaining that a vampire not in the book will be in the movie – we have to remember that most of these things went through Stephenie. I am sure they consulted with her first, and perhaps she had wanted to add him to the book, but couldn’t, and wanted him in the movie. Another possibility is that she HAD written him in the book, but he got axed during the publication process. I know that happened in Twilight where there were a few scenes in the book that were taken out when it was published. I am happy about more vampires – the more the merrier IMO

     My guess is that they will play some of the witnesses that Volturi gathered for the show down, and then because of their special gifts, they see that the Volturi were lying, and decide to leave, implying that the Cullens are right. That’s my guess, and it fits the answer Amadou gave, that he’s on both sides = neutral bystander. I don’t remember if that character in the book had a name (the one Garrett speaks to, who has a girlfriend who can tell when someone says the truth), but it sounds like these two could be them. :)

    I get your point, I’m excited to see them on the big screen, but reading it, it just got to confusing for me personally. I will be happy to put the names to the faces, and then maybe I’ll like it better. I’m a visual person, so I have to see it to relate to it more, if that makes sense. But,  Oh heck, who am I kidding? Its a Twilight movie, of course I’ll love it! ;)

    See this is why this series needs to end. Don’t start tampering with already great material. I don’t care is Stephanie approved it or not. Instead of adding new characters how about y’all focus more on the story line. This new characters screen time is time that could’ve been focused on sticking to the storyline. I’m sure there is plenty that we won’t see in Breaking Dawn 2. Give us more of the stuff that we don’t get to see. You stole key elements from Breaking Dawn 1. You can redeem yourself by giving them to us in Breaking Dawn 2.

    WHY IS THERE ANOTHER BLACK VAMPIRE?! not that im a racist, not even the slighest bit, but its just not possible! stephenie describes in the complete illustrated guide that the vampires who used to have dark skin now have the same white skin but with an olive tone…i mean come on even if you give them the red eyes they dont look like a vampire it just looks silly. Its not like they are painting him white cause Laurent they didnt for Laurent and besides he was really dark when in the book he wasnt even a man of darker skin color…

    I so agree with you.  Focus on the story line!  You said it perfectly when you said they ‘stole key elements from Breaking Dawn 1.’  Exactly how I feel.  I had to laugh last night as I recalled the bit where Bella calls Rose for help.  If you think about it and if you had not read the books, why put that in the movie?  The movie did nothing to explain or show how she protected Bella from the others.  Sometimes I think those responsible for the story line are too close (can’t see the forest for the trees.)  However, I am excited for the final installment and the show-down.  Hopefully, there will be some grit to it (something we can sink our teeth into ;)

    He’ll be one of the witnesses for the Volturi I imagine…also I should think he’ll have more dialogue in the film than in the book..

    I don’t think it is necessarily introducing “new” things into the movie so much as it angers some of us for them leaving out key elements from the book.  Personally, I am upset that we fans have generated so much revenue for the company and they can’t give us at least 15 more minutes.  Or, they can’t give us those key elements on a dvd?  Cheated!
