New Interview: Kristen Stewart on Her Role as a Vampire in Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2

Breaking Dawn Bella Sex on Fire

Kristen Stewart has a new interview about her role in the new Twilight Saga film, and it’s quite interesting. She discusses her role as the human turned vampire in Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Part 2. Here’s a snippet–

It felt good. It was really weird. It was such a long process of the two movies being shot at the same time as if they’re one. You shoot, obviously, out of order and you keep going back and forth between pregnant, human and dead vampire Bella. There’s so many different versions of Bella in this, it’s insane. It was a strange experience walking on set the first time I played a scene as a vampire because I’d watched everyone around me doing it all the time. I sound so lame, but vampire Bella really is my favorite character—she’s very representative of a matriarch. She’s very intuitive on almost a psychic level and no one ever acknowledges it, which is interesting. Maybe that says something about Stephenie that she doesn’t get respect for all of her f–king amazing qualities.

And that’s also one of the things that makes her appealing to me, so that’s not a strike at it—that’s something that I like about it. And I think it’s nice to see her finally get what she wants. That’s probably the best thing, even if it sounds simple and indulgent, which is why the f–king thing is criticized all the time. It’s nice to see people be happy. And she really—if I’ve played it right—is born to be where she is.

This is just a preview of what’s to come, we’ll let you know when the whole thing is posted!

I am a fan too of the HP Saga and very well said  I agree! SM worte a love story(with a twist) about a guy who is a vampire and a mortal girl who came into this guy’s life and fell in love but it also tells of loyalty, honor, and courage.. to fight for what you believe in and that is the love of a beautiful man or woman JK Rowling worte about magic, adventure, and this was also a story of friendship, love, loyalty, courgage, and sacrafices and knowing that good does triumph over evil :)

I am really happy about Kristen Stewart playing Bella. I rewatched New Moon and Eclipse the other night – to get my pre-Breaking Dawn fix – and she really does portray Bella like I imagined. She is perfect, and I really can’t wait for her to play a vampire. She is going to rock it!

Kristen Stewart has really brought Bella to life for us.  I think she shows everyone that she want’s Stephenie Meyer’s character to be all she was meant to be.  Thanks Kristen.

  • Kathy T.

If you’ve ever noticed, some of Stephenie’s harshest critics are other authors.  The word “jealousy” comes to mind!  Here was a stay at home soccer mom who had never written a book in her life, and she writes a multi million best seller right out of the gate.  I think there are many in the publishing world who think that she didn’t pay her dues.  Most authors, artists, and composers are rarely appreciated by people in their own time.  I for one, truly enjoyed the Twilight series.  My teenage daughter and I really bonded over those books.  I also teach junior high and was able to share the reading experience with my students.  Other than the Harry Potter books,  I can’t think of a book series in recent memory that has been able to do that.

Yes, I think she will too. I saw the pics, for the other SW movie and it is totally different. It looks like a disney style of film, not at all like SWTH, which has a more serious look to it.

  • Monique/booksaddicted

I agree and   I love the HP books too from the start and admire JK Rowling.  From the get go the love story of B/E got me hooked line and sinker.!  The only thing I hate with the passion of a thousand splendid sun was what the screenwriter screw up the feel, the passion and the these books.

    yup

  • LLO

I THINK THAT ITS REALLY NICE  THAT U SAID THAT.

everybody keeps saying its a teen movie and all that, but i’m 24 years old and my soon to be wife is 30 and we both enjoy the saga so much. we’re from belgium and i saw breaking dawn part 1 yesterday. in the theater there were not just teenagers, there were people of all ages except very old people offcourse. i read the books also and i believe part two (if they film it wright) will be the best film of the whole saga. i read breaking dawn in three days (in english) and i’m not a very fast reader. i enjoyed it so much and can’t wait to see it apear on the white screen…. Stephanie meyer rules ! !

I’m MUCH older than you and I’m a passionate finely aged fan. I’m really excited to see P2 and I haven’t seen P1 yet. It’s great to see and hear about more folks getting excited about this series.

pensavo che finisse in modo diverso……è finito con bella che si trasforma in vampira, potevano far vedere qualcos’altro

  • CM35

I am so disappointed to read reviews of this film. I, as a 35 year old married mother of 3, loved it.  It was so true to the book, never boring, truly engrossing.  Stephanie Meyer should be applauded for her reinvention of vampires and for the wonderful story that she has created.  I can honestly say that I will be waiting very impatiently for the fifth installment.

  • http://profiles.google.com/cmblake6 Chris Blake

Well, I’m a bit older than any of the people I saw mention their age, and I don’t think it’s a “teen movie”. I’m enjoying it immensely, and I’m going to lose my mind waiting for pt 2!

  • Shay

Stephanie Meyer wrote a beautiful series. Most of the characters really come to life for you as you continue to read about them, and then to have the movies put a visual to what you have read is awesome. As far as what anyone has said about Bella being “weak”, they must not have been paying that much attention. Yes, she loves Edward and tries to respect him, however, has anyone noticed that Bella does what Bella wants to do regardless? That doesnt exactly say weak to me. To me, Twilight is a love story for the ages.

  • Bella Hona

I have read the books, and seen all the movies. I just saw BD on Tuesday. My 18 year old daughter and I had a mother, daughter night! I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, as did my daughter! I read a comment that it’s not for very OLD PEOPLE. Well, I don’t know about all old people, but I am 52, and I personally can’t wait for BD2. WELL DONE SM.

  • Nyssa

hahaha why read when you can just go see the movie i mean yeah the book of Breaking dawn has part 2 in but why not just wait until you can actualy see whats happing

  • Keelywilliams15

People should just stop hating on other people perfect creations!

  • Keelywilliams15

    **people’s perfect creations

  • Rosie

Good on you Maria, it’s nice to read a mature comment.  Have said elsewhere, I don’t understand the vitrolic attacks made on Stephenie Meyer and her work: neither deserve it. I have to put it down to people being narrow minded, uneducated or just plain jealous of the success she has had.  I don’t see any of the critics writing 4 volume sagas (minus gratuitous violence etc.) & succeeding in getting our teens to read – probably because they couldn’t !  Nothing wrong with a happy ending either – Shakespeare did it in all his comedies.

  • VALLENEO

I love twlight from the first one till now. I knew it was going to be love every since edward stop the trunk and look in her eyes i knew it!  All i got to say is keep up the good work                                                                                                                     LOVE VAL

  • twilight fanatic

a great film part 1 and cant wait for part 2 but why!!! why!!! is the wait so long

  • Logan12345

i  wish they would not make us wait so long …. i wish they would be like here like a week or a couple more weeks later here is the TWILIGHT SAGA BREAKING DAWN PART 2

  • Samantha M

I am a huge fan of the twilight series. Especially breaking dawn. I like it more when Bella is a vampire. And I need to say that i am team EDWARD!!! :)

  • Sarah Youngblood

I couldn’t agree more with Maria, I LOVED the twist that Stephenie put on the vampires, I have always been into vampires (not in a freaky way, just always interesting to me). I think she is brilliant…we have been waiting for a love story for so long that would wow us and now that she has done it….I’m so happy. My only regret is that she stopped at Breaking Dawn (with the exception of the breif life of Bree), I hope that one day we will get to take a stroll down memory lane and check in on Bella, Edward, Jacob, and Renesmee and all the rest of the Cullens. Nice to see I’m not the only one supporting her. I’m a Twihard through and through…..Cant wait for Breaking Dawn Part 2….they keep getting better and better!!!

  • Lobsang

Ms. Meyer is masterfully creative in her plot and character development. It would be wonderful if she collaborated with someone whose writing skills equaled her imaginative gifts. At times I wondered if her work had been edited by a professional, as in addition to sloppy and simplistic sentence structure, I found numerous grammatical errors. I understand that she wrote ‘The Twilight Saga’ for young readers, but that does not require her to write ‘down’ in order to appeal to that demographic. Young people can appreciate elegant prose. I mean no disrespect here; as an avid reader, I’m certain Ms. Meyer is aware of her own strengths and her limitations.

  • TBK

It surprised me when I discovered that as a vampire, Bella’s gifts did NOT include precognition. In the first books, she sees the future in her dreams…more and more accurately as she becomes closer and closer to becoming a vamp.

  • Kathyde1980

As a 31 year old mother of four I have found myself often sitting and reading this series. i have read the first book about 200 times and the other three just as much. Twilight has brought romance of a generation that has disappeared from our world back into it. SM has created something so magical and fascinating that people are going to put her and the series down. The wonderful thing about SM is she is smart enough to let all of this negativity go.
