Yes, and if she was ovulating on their wedding night, this definitely would not be enough time to consider her cycle “late.” 17 makes a LOT more sense to me. Wish they’d stuck to the book here…

You know, I’m actually kind of with you here. I was bummed about Carter Burwell coming back on when I first heard, because I think I was really focused on how much I disliked “Bella’s Lullaby” (I *really* did not like that track), *but* I actually really *did* like his incidental music in Twilight, a lot. I just re-watched Eclipse today and was so bored by Howard Shore phoning it in (as I heard another Twilight fan say). He basically just kept repeating Jacob’s theme and that Metric song again and again with piano/strings, and it had a decidedly Lord of the Rings feel a lot of the time which just didn’t fit the feel of these films at all (*brilliant* for Lord of the Rings, inappropriate here). Burwell on the other hand brought in some youth, edge, tension and darkness with his incidental score on Twilight. So, I’m glad to have him back. I like the incidentals behind this clip. I’ve about-faced. I just hope he doesn’t write another crap track like “Bella’s Lullaby,” because there was something so unbearably trite about the whole minor to major transitions in there for me, and it wasn’t a stinkin’ lullaby, either. The song Edward sings to Bella is a VERY big deal in the books, and I wish they’d taken it more seriously and made it an actual sung lullaby. But anyhow, love the incidentals, just keep Mr. Burwell away from lullabies…

Oh, but I do have to mention that I absolutely *loved* Alexandre Desplat, and if I’d had any choice, I’d probably go with him. The New Moon theme was utterly perfect, in my opinion, and his incidentals were beautiful and emotionally spot-on. He did tension and dark well too. Yep, okay, my final vote is for Desplat. But Burwell is second. Maybe Desplat will score part 2? (*crossing my fingers*)

I too loved the New Moon score; it was the first and only time I ever purchased a movie soundtrack. And please don’t get me started on Eclipse…Howard totally phoned in the score and David Spade blew it…grrrrrrrrr

okay not to be everybodys party pooper, but it kinda made me wonder why the movie changed it to 14 day since the wedding, in the book it’s 17 days WTH!! Why make that change its not a big deal to say 17 instead of 14!

Edward: “Damn! I’m never going to live this down. Emmett’s going to be immature. Wait?! Late Period =… Oh snap! Baby!”

*Note… It should be mentioned that I liked this clip. It was very cute, and sweet, and gave just enough to make me want to throttle Summit for doing this to us (all the teasers and clips and yah). So annoying yet SO good.

Thanks for your reply, Jglow. Yep totally with you there. The New Moon theme was SO stunning to me, and even though I really liked Jacob’s Theme, to use it over and over in the way he did told me Shore wasn’t really that interested in this project. Probably didn’t take it seriously. *Desplat* took it seriously. You can tell.

AND there’s no way she would have thought she was late it if it’s only been 14. Most of us gals can relate to this, right? We’re not worried at like day 28, but if you’re used to having 28 and you’re suddenly on day 31 AND you’re having odd symptoms then it’s time to freak out a bit.

If she was conceiving on day 14 (ish), and it’s been 14 days since the wedding, she’d only be on day 28, probably about to start her period. SEVENTEEN days however would put you at 31, which would be an “uh oh” moment for a young girl w/ a well-regulated cycle.

Yeah, why the heck would they change this? Not only does it not make sense to change just one word in the book like this, but it doesn’t even really make logical sense.

Maybe they just wanted to have Bella notice in the earliest part of her pregnancy possible, in order to help explain the rapid growth of the child. I think Renesmee only gestated for like 30 days or so, is that right? So if she was 14 days into her formation, she was like halfway there… Bella should have had a MUCH bigger bump (really, more than a bump, she should have looked like a woman who was 4 1/2 months pregnant). I just googled a pic of a woman at 16 weeks on her first pregnancy (the belly tends to be smaller the first time), and I think Bella should have looked like this, roughly: http://pregnancy.about.com/od/trimesterguide/ig/Second-Trimester-Belly-Gallery/16-Weeks—First-Baby.-1C_.htm

So, hmm, maybe they were just trying to move the days back a little to make the smallness of her belly fit. But Bella would NOT have noticed being late in this case.

I have a question about this clip… are you supposed to see a bulge in Bella’s stomach? Because all I see is a very thin young woman. Does anyone else see a bulge (or “bump”)? Maybe I’m just used to women who aren’t rail thin…

But in Breaking Dawn he is doing a full circle of Bella’s Lullaby… Sort of like how we have watched Bella grow from teenage freak, heart broken, torn between two and making the choice to bride, wife, sexually driven, knocked up, mother, protective, warrior… lover forever… and at equal with Edward with him finally hearing her thoughts… Still… He is bringing Bella’s Lullaby to a full circle. Or so they say. Love Death Birth is beautiful with Bella’s Lullaby in it. So perfect and fitting. Listen to it!
