When asked about the infamous Breaking Dawn birth scene, this is what she had to say -

Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg tells me she’s been in Baton Rouge with director Bill Condon doing rewrites for the scripts for the two BD movies.

“We’re working on it,” Rosenberg says of baby Renesmee’s less-than-pretty arrival. “And we’re working on it to be as intense as it is in the book.”

Yikes. That could be a whole lotta gore.

“I don’t think it’s about the amount of blood you show,” Rosenberg says. “It’s about the intensity of it. It’s on their faces. It’s all from Bella’s point of view when you’re seeing what’s going. It should feel visceral. I think it’s going to be pretty intense.”

What’s Rosenberg’s ETA on the final scripts? “It better damn well be before the beginning of November,” she says, “because that’s when we start shooting.”

Um yeah Melissa, it better be. Maybe you should .. I don’t know .. GET ON THAT!!

    Talk about dramatic.
    I can’t wait!

  • edward.forever

im beyond excited about these two movies, but i dont know if i like how intense they are going to make it. yes, it needs to be the book and not all suggested, but they also need to consider their audience. 12 year old girls are not going to be allowed to see a movie like they are trying to make. its a hard decision, but they might be going a little too far…for some ;)

  • KL☼ Ami♥W4E♣BD1♂BD2♀Cptvs↑

I know. After typing that and being flooded with all kinds of other memories, too…now I can’t stop squirming in my seat!!!!

  • KL☼ Ami♥W4E♣BD1♂BD2♀Cptvs↑

No, not at all. I think it’s just perspective. Maybe it was more studdering & blinking in T and mouth breathing in NM. It doesn’t matter, lol…I just noticed she was doing alot better and was glad for her. Yeah, she rocked Eclipse!!!! ♥ BD is going to be awesome(r)…

  • KL☼ Ami♥W4E♣BD1♂BD2♀Cptvs↑

True…since she only gets to see the end result…and by then it’s too late

  • http://www.coralecomics.piczo.com LegHitchThis

    Oh I see. Right, right.

  • robert cro

I understand what you want to say, but sorry …..
On this topic has already been discussed and the movie should be as the book .. They will not try make a horror movie, but the drama, tension and all that must be present. Some of these things they missed to show in past movies properly, here it does not happen. The fourth book is quite serious, and the movie must follow the book .

Any reduction would be a complete failure

Also you must understand, that Twilight saga is not a kid movie (like Shrek or Alice in wonderland)

  • http://www.fanfiction.com/~youroasis Nutty for Taylor’s MCNutters

i thought she improved tons and was so much better in new moon. her strongest yet.

  • http://www.fanfiction.com/~youroasis Nutty for Taylor’s MCNutters

my fave scene out of the whole series. :’) i can’t wait to see taycob interact with the baby. a man with a baby just melts my heart. (you’ll probably only read that from me as jacob fan lol) and taylor’s great with kids.

  • iloveurguts

the birthing scene is in jacobs pov actually! lol

  • Anonymous

Um. Why is this being done from Bella’s point of view? Homegirl’s practically unconscious.borderline death. How is that supposed to be as intense as is being from Jacob’s point of view when that’s the only way we can SEE WHAT’S GOING ON?

….MR might as well give up. She’s already failed.

  • Anonymous

Interesting again! I look forward to seeing how KS pulls this off. She has a huge weight on her shoulders because she knows that she will be judged by some of the fans who will pull her apart to pieces. She will do the best she can with the help of everyone around her and I think she will do what she can!
She is a strong girl who wants to please her fans, full knowing that she can’t please them all!
I love her acting and seeing her evolve as as actress! Go KStew!

  • Justine

I personally don’t think it should be from Bella’s point of view. In the book, most of the birth scene, if not all of it, is more explained in detail from Jacob’s perspective.

  • Val21hernan87

did any one else realize that she said from bellas point of view, when its supposed to be from jacobs. it doesn’t go back to bellas point of view till after she has the baby. hmmmmm…. i hope they catch that.

  • nancie

I agree MR should get on it. She better write it right and not lame. Ugh I hate her work that’s she’s done on twilight. I hope she makes this right or I’m going to throw a freaking tomato at her head for ruining the best book ever!
All of the twilight fans that I agree with me let’s join forces and throw something at MR if ruins the best of the twilight saga books for us!

P.S. sorry about me getting so into my emotions but ugh MR just plain out sucks!

I just read an article from the vancouver sun and it really annoys me when I hear about the way they portray Jacob falling in love with Nessie (sorry Bella it’s just easier to type) he doesn’t FALL IN LOVE with her! He LOVES her there’s a difference and when people who haven’t read the books (and why haven’t they) read stuff like this it must sound perverted! Anyway just getting that off my chest! Be a writer and do your research!!

  • robert cro

Yea, but i get it… Some parts of this scene probably will be from Bella’s point of view… It’s logic, and it will be much intense and dramatic, when you do the movie.I think It will be a mix (Jacob’s,Bella’s even can do from Edward’s point of view)… They must adapt for the screen
When you shoot, you can’t follow the book exactly, step by step… It would be stupid

  • Kate

I thought the birth scene is from Jacob’s perspective actually MR??

  • http://www.coralecomics.piczo.com LegHitchThis

    Nice avi!

I don’t care HOW LONG it took you to write the Script, as long as you re-tell the story CORRECTLY. For all I care, I’ll still be watching it anyway even if the Script finished after November and everything is pushed back. Just, PLEASE for the love of God, tell the correct story!! And yep, stop pressuring her or she’ll screw up!

  • http://www.coralecomics.piczo.com LegHitchThis

    lol

  • Anonymous

I don’t understand how they’ll include sex scenes and giving birth scenes and still make it a PG 13… 0_0.

  • rHiz_patzz – ♥ dirty Robowski

woo! so excited on how kstew deliver this intense scene! and also rob, tay.. i know they can live up to our expectation or better yet exceed it! :) )

so please MR.. do your effin best to make this right! don’t ruin it yet AGAIN!

  • http://www.coralecomics.piczo.com LegHitchThis

Yeah but they are trying so hard to make it one. I feel like Twilight shouldn’t be for an audience that young. If you’re that age and you’re mature enough for it, then fine.. but they need stop trying to gear it towards a younger audience! Let it be true to the book in some way, and keep the mature content.
Btw.. the first 3 twilights are kid friendly enough. Give the adults and mature audiences a gift this time around!

  • Anonymous

Yep, that’s what she said LAST TIME.

  • Anonymous

OMG, and the Edward/Jacob scene where Edward says “she can have puppies” and falls to his knees…oh God, that scene was so heart wrenching in the book, poor Edward was going crazy with worry!! I was chewing all my nails…

  • Anonymous

I think you are right. I was also pretty much the opinion of our “guest” here, especially in NM where it was at times excrucianting to watch the amount of blinking and lip twitching. But after re-re-re-watching Twilight and also watching a few other movies with her I have to admit that she did not do it in that movie (she does blink a few times, but it comes as a natural gesture), so my only guess is that Chris Weitz did not guide her acting well enough.

  • SureSure4RobSTEN!

Thanks! I read that Rob & Kristen had to move out of their home because of paps…this ,pisses me off beyond belief. Leave them alone!

  • KL☼ Ami♥W4E♣BD1♂BD2♀Cptvs↑

NM drove me the craziest. I think because in Twilight she explained all her studdering and stuff, but for #2 there was so much open mouth acting and breathing that it was too much…for me. Eclipse is my fav and I’m very happy to see her improvments cause I like her and want the BEST for her. ♥

  • Team Rob Dazzles Me

Isn’t the birth scene from Jacobs point of view? He describes the whole thing, Bella is passed out, almost dead.

  • KL☼ Ami♥W4E♣BD1♂BD2♀Cptvs↑

It’s stuff like this that makes me so mad, and scares me that they’ll quit acting…

  • EAD_TwistAArmpitHair

I missed our Edward during that… He just didn’t know what to do. *sigh*

  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)

I second that! I’ve liked Eric Bana since Troy (as Hector), and I’ve also seen him in Munich, The Other Boelyn Girl, and Star Trek – though it took me a while to recognize him. He was scary as Nero!

Seeing him in The Time Traveler’s Wife made me fall in love all over again. That’s a book that I want to read – I loved the story.

So… Eric Bana in BD…. I don’t know if I would like him as Alistair, because he’s kind of grouchy. Maybe Eleazer? Is he supposed to be hispanic, like Carmen? I can’t remember.

  • “MY LOVE”-Robert/Edward

Yes, people are really hard on her. Don’t get me wrong, but when people criticize Kristen too much about playing Bella it seems a little bit funny for me. You know, Bella isn’t queen or someone with strong character, she’s just 17-18 year old girl who’s a little bit awkward and fell in love with a vampire and friend with a werewolf. And doesn’t require a great acting ability to play this. But Kristen does her job very good, her being awkward also helps her to play Bella better, i think. And BD she’ll be much better. Besides this Kristen had played much more difficult characters than Bella.

  • FreezeBurn~TwilightGirlForever

The Time Traveler’s Wife is a Great movie! I get goosebumps just thinking about certain scenes!

And I agree 110% about what you said about OUR cast being great!

  • Kjersti90

was i the only one who notecd(?) that she said that it was going to be from Bellas point of view during the birth? Does that mean that the whole movie will come from her eyes or???

  • SiempreCrepusculo

I think Melissa will do it justice. I’m excited. :)

  • RG_YouSmellLikeSunshine :)

    i love eric bana!
    more aussie pride :D

but yeah. i totally agree about kristen. and i think that even though it will be a stretch (no pun intended), she can pull it off :)

  • http://twitter.com/RobstenKiss Kylee Banderas

    Bella’s point of view ?
So the screen would be mostly blank ?
Seriously ?! Like , what the heck ?
I mean , you could tell the story from a different point
of view , but I guess it’ll be less GORE coming from Bella , So I see where
there going with this . As long as they dont twist with what goes on like
Jacob telling her to keep her heart beating , Edward not losing hope , & Bella wanting them to GET HER BABY SAVED .

  • RG_YouSmellLikeSunshine :)

personally, i was cringing when i read that part of the book, so i hope it translates well onto screen. i agree that there doesn’t have to be a lot of blood, but it has to be done well. unfortunately, doing things well isn’t really in MR’s repertoire.

  • Anonymous

Tangential at best, I know…but some of the world’s TOP designers have sketched out what they’d imagine BELLA’S WEDDING DRESS to be like. As a Twihard and fashionista, this killed me….GORGEOUS.

    http://www.instyle.com/instyle/package/general/photos/0,,20241149_20299475_20661914,00.html

Sorry if I’m super late on this!

  • robert cro

    Yeah, Well said !!!!!

    It is also my opinion

  • Anonymous

I agree! And then just don’t read it once, read it again and again. Each time I have read it, I got something different each time. I can’t wait for the Re-reads because we get even more different interpetation of the story.
If people read all the books you get the whole story of how Jacob plays into being Nessie’s protector!
But yes journalist need to do their research before they state something that is not true, but it gets some people who will believe it-and that is sad!

  • Erin1280

Is it just me or is something wrong with what she said in this interview? When Bella is giving birth it’s not in her persective it’s Jacobs. Did anyone else catch that? Has she even read the book?

  • http://www.coralecomics.piczo.com LegHitchThis

True true. I’m not saying you’re wrong or anything. It’s just.. you know. Lol

  • http://www.coralecomics.piczo.com LegHitchThis

    lol

  • http://www.coralecomics.piczo.com LegHitchThis

Wow. Give them some breathing room! u_u
A home should be a place to relax and get away from all the drama and the paps are bringing the drama to their house. Makes me sick..

  • http://twitter.com/Sihm Speak2Me-KStewLover

    Completely agree! :D

  • Anonymous

    well said *sigh*.
I’m still a bit afraid when MR says she’ll show the birthing through Bella’s eyes. It will be like blurry camera, darkness, Jacob, edward, blurry camera, Renesmee and bam, darkness again. that’s why they won’t need the blood and it will pass as PG 13….I’m almost certain she”ll ruin it again, and it will probably be accepted that way by Bill Condon and Scummit because it makes a very difficult scene very easy to shoot, withour much money and few special effects. yeah, I know, I’m such a pessimist, but you know what they say about the burned child LOL.

  • AlteredbyaVampire

Eric was f**kin great as Hector in Troy…….and talking about PG13,The Notebook had a pretty racy love scene that never left anything up to the imagination……as for this scene in BD,I’m just like Rob and can’t wait to see it……just thinking about his mouth all over Kristens’ body sealing in the venom is gonna be all kinds of sensual……Bring it on!!!
