Melissa Rosenberg Says That The Breaking Dawn Birth Scene Is “As Intense As It Is In The Book”

E!Online has a new interview with Twilight Saga screenwriter, Melissa Rosenberg. When asked about the infamous Breaking Dawn birth scene, this is what she had to say -

Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg tells me she’s been in Baton Rouge with director Bill Condon doing rewrites for the scripts for the two BD movies.

“We’re working on it,” Rosenberg says of baby Renesmee’s less-than-pretty arrival. “And we’re working on it to be as intense as it is in the book.”

Yikes. That could be a whole lotta gore.

“I don’t think it’s about the amount of blood you show,” Rosenberg says. “It’s about the intensity of it. It’s on their faces. It’s all from Bella’s point of view when you’re seeing what’s going. It should feel visceral. I think it’s going to be pretty intense.”

What’s Rosenberg’s ETA on the final scripts? “It better damn well be before the beginning of November,” she says, “because that’s when we start shooting.”

Um yeah Melissa, it better be. Maybe you should .. I don’t know .. GET ON THAT!!

i cant wait to see kristen pregenant. i know she will pull it off. Cuz she ahs even said so that she os excited to play a mom. So i know she can pull it i cant wait to see robert hold a baby. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH they better put the part were edward explain 2 jacob about bella and jacob explains the maturatiy in edwards eyes man i cant wait this long

Great cast? Are you serious? Out of the three main actors, only Taylor can act. Kristen looks confused ALL the time she stutters constantly, and why does Robert ALWAYS look constipated? I mean come on.
No one in the cast can act right. I’m sorry, its true. They need acting lessons like… now.
All the twilight movies so far have made me cry because they were so horrible. First was Catherine who just ruined it. Just plain ruined it.
Next was Chris who changed too much stuff.
Last was David who was good I must admit but rushed through everything too fast.
I’m a fan of twilight, really I am but only of the books. Not the movies. Never the movies.

Unless Melissa missed it, or forgot to read Breaking Dawn, the birth scene is from Jacob’s point of view (book two in the book starting on page 139)!

He looks constipated because of MR poorly scripts.
I doubt about Taylor’s acting abilities. So far he shows the same personality on- and off screen.

oh come on, she isn’t saying “It’s from bellas point of view in the book”… she says we are going to see it from bellas point of view in the damn movie.. and that’s how I want it so I am super pleased. If you guys(who just complain) dont like it.. then dont watch it! enough said..

Well its unfortunate, it being Bellas POV in the movie will be watered down,/ black screen/ fast moving camera angles. that’s are complaint. Most of us want a more edgy, mature BD.

I’m kinda nervous…i’m picturing the same screwed-up scene as in twilight when Bella got bit and was writhing on the floor with the camera focusing in and out…i wasn’t really a fan of that whole scene

Yeah exactly. There has to be a way the BC can film the scene from Bella’s perspective yet show how Edward and Jacob have to work together to deliver Renesmee and save Bella.

Yeah she seems really determined to make this work. More than ever actually. Eh, maybe it’s just me, but I think she really wants to make it the best this time around. She should have done that with the other movies but you know.. it’s better late than never. Right?

Do you imagine they actually put sidenotes to Robert’s script. Bright Yellow!: Robb look constipated. HAHA that would be hilaripus and by the way doesnt he has that same look in all movies I think thats just his face and not his Edward potrayal

I agree with you in that the movies are not as good as the books. I discovered Twilight in 2006 when I was 13 years old and I couldnt read them and stuff because of my location. But I moved to Florida (hate it),l and I read them and I did like them a lot, the movies came out and i became a little hesitant towards them, because lets face it they ar enot great movies, they are average films with a lot of potential.
Now the part that you said that Taylor is the only one that can act. I dont think so. He is way too eager to be the next big action star and he overacts a lot.
Kristen and Robert are really good actors I advice you to see The Runaways and Remember me, they are pretty good in those.
Last at not least the reason why these movies arent so brilliant: Crappy script adaptations and low budget. Imagine Twilight with a 100 million dollar budget and Tim Burton as the director and writer.
They would be huge!

It’s too late now! The script/film will begin filming in November. I have liked each movie better than its previous one so this should be fine however complicated.

That is what I was thinking about… will it be very quick camera movements, like circling around from Bella’s view.. Edward, Jake… but I am interested in when she wakes up… showing everything crystal clear, ya know? That should be cool!

It’s going to be amazing to see everyone handling “Renesmee”, I know. They all get so protective over her, so it should be so cute to see that play out.

you think they’ll be able to make a difference in the image to show it crystal clear and normal clear? I think it’s a bit difficult. Maybe they’ll add this extra colour to the light or show some special effect (like they did in “Interview with the vampire” where Louie sees that stone angel looking at him with sad eyes

Oh, I loved Interview with a Vampire… they were all so awesome in that. I’m sure they can handle something like that with today’s technology.

wow u really need to get a life well that’s your opinion i believe they all were gud in their own way and Robert doesn’t look constipated the only reason he looks like that cuz that’s his character his role he is supposed to look in pain because he cant give Bella what she wants and he is afraid that her soul will be lost in the process obviously you don’t pay attention to the books otherwise you would have known that.

the birth is not seen from bella’s point of view in the book it is seen from jacob so why not make it how he see’s it? come on make it like the book.. please.. cant wait to see it..

This birth scene has to blow other birth scenes out of the water. It has to be the wildest birth scene it ever exist, or it would just be lame.

Hi! I have a question… Was there an explanation how Edward was able to impregnate Bella, while Rosalie couldn’t get pregnant?

I don’t know where to post this question, i hope it’s ok to ask it here… some one may have an answer

yes, that’s true about robert..plus he has to restrain himself because her blood smells sooo good…but on the other hand- what’s kristen’s excuse??? she has never looked happy with edward, and her break up scene in eclipse was just horrible- now that girl could use some acting lessons- plus anyone who has seen remember me would know that robert can act- he was great and the movie was very moving!

because when your a vampire, your body can’t change. so Rosalie couldn’t get pregnant because your body changes, but because Bella was still human, she could.
