Breaking Dawn melissa rosenberg facebook 600x325 Transcript of Facebook Interview with Breaking Dawn Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg melissa rosenberg Melissa Rosenberg, screenwriter for the movie adaptations of all four books and five scripts of The Twilight Saga, just finished an online interview with fans on the Glamour Facebook page.

Not too much new stuff to reveal, but it’s interesting to read through her ansewrs. Here’s what she had to say-

Favorite quote/scene?

I’d have to say the honeymoon scenes. very romantic and playful. lovely to see Edward and Bella having fun.

How to get started as a screenwriter?

I started by taking many many classes in screenwirting, and reading screenplays, watching film and television and analyzing structure. I’m afraid it is HIGHLY competitive, but Hollywood is always hungry for orginal well told stories.

How much of the book is in the movie?

Because we split the one book into two movies, it gave us a lot more room to include as much as possible from the books. Particularly in the first part. We wanted all our favorite scenes to be included – of course everyone has different favorites, but hopefully you’ll be happy. xoM

On cutting down the book

There’s not a screenwriter alive who hasn’t had favorite scenes cut, either for budget reasons in production, or for pacing and storytelling reasons in editing. But honestly, when I saw the various cuts of the movie, I have to say I didn’t miss them, can’t even really remember what they were!

Twilight Saga Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s Favorite Moments From The ‘Breaking Dawn Part 1′ Trailer

Twilight Saga Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s Favorite Moments From The ‘Breaking Dawn Part 1′ Trailer

Breaking Dawn MR BD 1 300x493 Twilight Saga Screenwriter Melissa Rosenbergs Favorite Moments From The Breaking Dawn Part 1 Trailer wolf pack melissa rosenberg jacob black edward cullen breaking dawn wedding breaking dawn trailer breaking dawn part 1 bella swan The LA Times spoke to the Twilight Saga‘s screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg and asked her favorite moment from seeing the latest Breaking Dawn Part 1 teaser trailer last week.

Ever after: Rosenberg was pleased that the trailer in part indicated that this film is about a marriage. “It teases the fact that this a story about … a marriage going through some unusual stresses ….  At one point in the movie there’s a line where Edward says, ‘They say the first year is the hardest.’ It’s very funny.”

Jacob’s heartbreak: We were struck by Jacob’s emotional goodbye to human Bella, as he knows she’ll soon be promoted to Edward’s immortal beloved. Rosenberg says that scene resonates more than we know. “It’s a really sweet moment, and it’s the moment the film turns. It turns into a horror film,” she said. Speaking of which ….

The horror: Robert Pattinson’s previous comments that Bill Condon was making a horror movie were ominous, and the trailer in fact reflects terrible times ahead for the residents of Forks, Wash. “We’re beginning to get into the second half of the film, which turns more into a horror story. The images of Bella — trust me, it only gets more intense,” Rosenberg says.

What you never expected to see: If some footage surprises fans, or doesn’t conjure memories from Meyer’s books, Rosenberg understands. “I think fans may be a little freaked out. There’s some conflict with the wolves that they may not remember — there’s a lot of conflict in the book that’s resolved with a conversation and we only hear about it. For this movie I was able to play off of that,” she said.

The first year is the hardest!  LOL!  Even for vampire/human marriages.  I have a TON of favorite moments from the trailer.

I wondered about the scene with the wolves outside the Cullen house.   What are your thoughts?

The Twilight Saga Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg Expands On ‘Breaking Dawn’

The Twilight Saga Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg Expands On ‘Breaking Dawn’

Breaking Dawn Melissa Rosenberg 280x430 The Twilight Saga Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg Expands On Breaking Dawn melissa rosenberg breaking dawn breaking dawn part 2 breaking dawn part 1 The Twilight Saga screenwriter talked with PopcornBiz about having fun expanding some characters and stories into two Breaking Dawn movies.

“I did actually [get to do that], because we got to fill out the story because we’re doing the next two movies,” said Rosenberg. “So there was room to play and expand on some of the characters that Stephanie introduces. That was a lot of fun.”

“It’s a much more grownup movie – It’s an adult story,” the writer said of evolving the franchise beyond its high school origins. “The stakes are raised even higher because it’s not the story of teens. It’s the stories of grownups, so we’re talking about marriage and children and family – and these are pretty grownup things, but sexy.”

If you haven’t read the books, beware of the SPOILER up ahead.

Rosenberg says the highlight of the story will be seeing Kristen Stewart’s character Bella become a vampire at long last. “Kristen gets to make the transformation and that is going to be so exciting to see. [Director] Bill [Condon] and I talked about it in developing this script and the screenplay. Now she’s going to embody it. It’s going to be so great.”

Rosenberg, who penned all of the “Twilight” films and previously wrote for Showtime’s “Dexter,” hasn’t quite adjusted to the fact that, minus a few rewrites, her bloody good run is coming to a close.

“It’s a shocking experience after four years to not be writing ‘Twilight!’” she said.

I wonder which characters.  Which characters would you like for Melissa to expand  on?  The nomads?  The other covens?  Nahuel?  The Volturi?   “and these are pretty grownup things, but sexy”.   :D
