MTV Interview with Director Bill Condon PLUS New Stills with Edward, Bella, Amazon & Denali Covens!
As part of their Fall 2012 Movie Preview, MTV has an exclusive interview with director Bill Condon plus two more Breaking Dawn Part 2 stills!
MTV News: How are you feeling? What stage of the post-production process are you in?
Bill Condon: We’re at the stage of mixing and doing color timing and adding that last big bunch of visual effects shots, and that’s where it gets complicated because the [most challenging] ones always come in last, so it’s just making sure that they look as good as they can, that’s the big thing right now.
MTV: Is there one specific FX shot that you’re particularly pleased with?
Condon: Oh man, there are so many that are so beautiful. I love the way, it’s very creepy, but I love the way that Alec’s mist looks. He has that mist that can make you blind, deaf and dumb, so that’s looking really good. It feels like the best Hammer [horror] movie you’ve ever seen. It’s a little different [type of mist] and sort of has tentacles that can get inside you and all that stuff.
MTV: I’m so excited to see all the powers! I spoke with Mackenzie Foy recently, the most adorable person the planet, and she talked about how she had fun filming her “power scenes.”
Condon: I know, she’s adorable, right? Her power, she touches somebody and she can show them what’s in her head and that you develop. There are some visual things, but a lot of that is done through Carter Burwell’s score, but then just recently in the mixing Dane Davis, who is a brilliant sound designer, he did “The Matrix” and so many other movies, he had her just speak and read poetry and things like that, and he’s turned it into hundreds of tracks. You don’t actually hear words but it becomes the chattering of her [voice], it’s a very abstract effect that I’ve never heard before. It’s really cool.

MTV: How about the running time? Is that official yet?
Condon: Yeah. The running time is one hour and 56 minutes, one minute shorter than the first one and as such, I think the shortest of all of them.

New Face Fridays Interview with MyAnna Buring (Tanya)!
Welcome to another interview for New Face Fridays! Together with our other favorite Twilight fan sites, we have the wonderful opportunity to interview the new faces of vampires in Breaking Dawn Part 2! Last week we kicked off the New Face Fridays with Casey LaBow who plays Kate of the Denali Coven. This week, our interview is with the beautiful MyAnna Buring who plays vegetarian vampire, sister to Kate and close Cullen family friend, Tanya of the Denali Coven in Alaska. MyAnna talks about seeing herself for the first time as Tanya, her favorite moments working on Breaking Dawn and her new role on Downton Abbey!
Q: A lot of people who are cast talk about the very first time they see themselves in their red or gold contacts, and that’s the first time they really felt like a vampire. Can you describe what it was like for us the very first time you saw yourself all decked out in your vampire gear?
MyAnna: It was amazing. I think that’s the first moment that I really, truly, believed that I was doing the film. Because all of it, you know, you have this build up when you get the part and you can’t quite believe it’s true then, and then you arrive and you still can’t quite believe it’s true then. The idea of you becoming a vampire, or becoming part of this incredible group of vampires that’s described in Stephanie’s films, it’s such a far fetched notion in a way, and then all of a sudden as soon as the contacts go in, it’s a reality. Suddenly you are able to see yourself as apart of that group, if you will, and it’s amazing feeling.
Q: Congrats on being cast in Downton Abbey. Can you tell us a little about that part and when you are starting to work on it?
MyAnna: I’ve already started working on it. I play a maid who joins the rest of the staff downstairs. She causes a bit of mischief and I’m very excited to be playing, her name is Edna, and I’m thrilled, really.

Relationship to the Cullens: When they met the Cullens, the Denali were already “vegetarian” vampires and bonded with them over this shared lifestyle choice. They have been close friends since and consider each other as extended family.
Relationship to the Volturi: Tanya, Kate, and Irina’s “mother” was executed by the Volturi for creating an Immortal Child. Eleazar was originally a member of the Volturi Guard but left to travel with Carmen, eventually joining up with the Denali sisters.

Amun has since tried to gather his own talented force but Aro has enjoyed toying with Amun by luring gifted individuals away from Amun’s coven and into the Volturi guard.

Relationship to the Volturi: The Romanian coven ruled the vampire world until the Volturi decimated the coven and took over power. When the Romanians were overthrown, both Stefan & Vladimir lost their mates during the battles. They constantly search for ways to damage the Volturi’s power & take any possible revenge against them. The Volturi periodically send vampires after them, but the Romanian Coven remains on guard against them.
