Robert Pattinson presented New Moon director Chris Weitz at the Hamilton Behind The Camera Awards on November 6th at L. A.’s  Conga Room.  Chris was honored for Director in A Better Life.

The vampire Edward from the Twilight saga, Robert Pattinson, presented Chris Weitz, that directed him in New Moon. Visibly nervous and embarrassed, Pattinson started saying that he “would rather that this room was fool of Twilight fans, since they wouldn’t care to notice how bad he’s is for speeches”. The actor, however, started a curious tribute. “When I met Chris I wanted to be friends with him in seconds. He is a trememendous artist… and I think it’s bizarre to be here saying behaved things about him, since in our last conversation we were talking about going to Coachella to eat some mushrooms” – to what Weitz yelled “SOUP! Mushrooms soup!”.

Oh that smiley face! <3  LOL!  Mushroom soup!!  I hope they go to Coachella next year.  *fingers crossed*

The ‘Abduction’ Premiere!

The ‘Abduction’ Premiere!

Here are some of photos from the ‘Abduction’ premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA last night! Our blogbuddies at Letters to Twilight helped us with coverage! (You may have noticed that our Twitter stream was “Abducted” last night!) Know that:

  • BooBoo Stewart, aka Seth Clearwater was there.
  • New Moon director Chris Weitz came out to show his support. (vid below)
  • So did Justin Bieber…
  • Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon was there!
    • Did anyone go to the VIP event in their city to see the movie? What’d you think of Taylor Lautner’s big new action-packed role?

      Dear Taylor,

I’m gonna tell you and all my LTT and BreakingDawnMovie.org friends about that time I went to the Abduction premiere and saw you and your new movie. But first can I just say every time I hear the title “Abduction” is makes me think of the abductor equipment at the gym which looks like a medieval torture devices for your downstairs area and that makes me wonder if you think about that since you’re so well acquainted with the gym and then I start thinking about downstairs areas and then… well, never mind let’s just get on with the story…

So who do I see coming down the carpet but Mr. Chris Weitz himself! Of course I like yell out CHRIS! CHRIS! And everyone around me had NO idea. Thank God Alison from Twifans was by me and totally got it! She yelled that they loved A Better Life and that made him very happy, and because I am that person I yelled that I was from East LA and that reeled him in you guys! Echo Park FTW! So I asked him to say hi to you guys here at LTT and thiiiiis happened…

Good thing this guy was still around for us to look at… and let me just say ladies (and gheys) he’s all growns up and looking goooood. Blue suit, tailored just right, the hairs appeared to be kinda combed to the side. All I’m saying is I’m glad I don’t need to be running to Georgia after every Taylor post I do anymore. Whatta guy.

Oh! And how about Taylor’s new movie? Well–

I don’t want to give away any spoilers but it is a very fun movie that we had a REALLY great time watching. Sure there were some lines here and there that had us laughing for other reasons but at this point I feel like they’re just putting those in there for us. If you don’t have plans September 23rd or want to pull a double feature with Drive, you could definitely take your boyfriend, or your hubs or your gay and go see Abduction because there is a ton of action and butt kicking and bombs (in ovens). But really, take your girlfriends because who wants to have to explain why Taylor doesn’t have his shirt on or why their make out scene is hotter than anything we’ve seen in Twilight. I kid you not. ENJOY!

New Moon Director Chris Weitz Talks Breaking Dawn!

New Moon director Chris Weitz recently talked to MTV about Breaking Dawn being made into two films, and how he personally thinks Bill Condon was the perfect choice for director-

Weitz ended up declining the opportunity to bring the final book in the vampire series to the big screen, but he remains flattered that the cast supports him and even has a bit of advice for “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon (“Dreamgirls”).

“That’s very sweet,” Weitz told MTV News when reminded of how the cast has championed him. “I think that’s because I was the last person who directed them.”

Weitz, who led “New Moon” to more than $700 million in worldwide box-office receipts, is confident that Condon is the right man to step into the director’s chair for “Breaking Dawn.” “I think he’s terribly talented,” Weitz said. “I know him, he’s a solid citizen, great guy, very smart. I think he’s going to do an amazing job.”

His one piece of advice? “Think carefully about babies clawing out of people’s stomachs,” Weitz said in reference to one scene in the book, going on to refer to an even more famous scene in 1979′s “Alien.” “[Director] Ridley Scott sort of did it.”

Weitz added with a laugh, “Kristen Stewart giving live birth through the stomach in 3-D! I’m there. I’m paying.”

And he’d be happy to pay for not just one film, but two. It has long been rumored that “Breaking Dawn” will be split into two flicks. That’s a move Weitz endorses.

“The book is big enough that it would warrant it,” he said.

I heart Chris. And if he is confident in Bill, then that makes me even MORE confident :D

[Thanks, McNutters, and Diana!]
