Breaking Dawn Part 2 New Face Friday

New Face Fridays Interview with Mackenzie Foy!

New Face Fridays Interview with Mackenzie Foy!

Welcome to another New Face Friday interview!  This Friday, your favorite Twilight fansites interviewed Mackenzie Foy who plays Renesmee Cullen, half human half vampire hybrid, daughter of Edward and Bella Cullen.    This is the interview from Comic-Con last July.

July 12 2012. Hard Rock Hotel, San Diego, California

Q: I’d really like to know what you learned about acting from the other cast members that you got to work with?

M: Well, I learned the most by watching them because they would be themselves and then they would become the character that they become.

Q: Is there one thing that you learned by watching one person in particular, that you took in and thought “I want to be able to do that”?

M: There’s some cool stunts that everyone did, there’s a couple of flips and I thought that was very cool.

Q: Now do you want to do gymnastics?

M: (Laughs) No…

Q: You mentioned stunts in the panel… That you got to ride on the back of the ‘wolf Jacob’. Was that a stunt? Were you on a harness or something?

M: I was on a harness… It was really cool.

Q: You can’t tell us anything more? M: No! Q: They’ve got you trained!

M: (Laughs)

Q: Now, on the press conference you mentioned the swear jar… Who was the biggest offender?

M: Like I said, I don’t want anybody else to get in trouble! (laughs)

Q: Is there anybody who didn’t have to put any quarters in the swear jar?

M: Um… Stephenie (Meyer), Taylor (Lautner), Noel (Fisher), Dr. Guri (Weinberg), and there were some other people like Miss Tracey (Heggins), Miss Judi (Shekoni). Most of the Cullen guys. They didn’t say any swear words. Oh! And Miss Ashley (Greene). She didn’t say any.

New Face Friday Interview with Erik Odom (Peter)! Plus New Peter Character Poster

New Face Friday Interview with Erik Odom (Peter)! Plus New Peter Character Poster

Welcome to another New Face Fridays interview with the new vampire cast in Breaking Dawn Part 2! Together with your favorite Twilight fansites, we interviewed the new vampire cast to get to know them better!

This Friday, we interviewed the dashing Erik Odom who plays Peter the American nomad, old friend of Jasper’s. Erik/Peter has been a fandom favorite. Getting the most cheers when he was introduced at the Comic-Con panel!

Here’s part of our interview with Erik!

Q: When you walked into Comic-Con [at the end of the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 cast panel], you got some of the biggest shouts out of all the newcomers. How did that feel?

Erik: It was unbelievable. The only thing I could say it compared to was the Part 1 premiere when I walked down the red carpet. It’s just, you try to prepare yourself for it as much as you can, you know maybe the response will be big but maybe it won’t, you try to be ready for everything … but when it hits you, your knees buckle. I mean my knees buckled. It’s one of the craziest, craziest things. But the fanbase has always been so enthusiastic, so passionate. And I think part of it has always been a combination of people loving the character Peter and just also being on Twitter and being on Facebook and having fans reach out, just trying to interact as much as possible and including the fans as much as you can, you know. Because the fans are what make the fandom what it is.

Q: People love Peter, but they also love Peter with Charlotte. Their relationship’s really special, and I know that that’s something we hope to see on-screen, and I was wondering how far in advance did you meet Valorie [Curry], and you know make it into a rhythm with her and feel like you could portray that on-screen?

Erik: What was great about Valorie, even more so than a lot of the other vampires who I met once we went to Louisiana together, I actually – I didn’t know her personally, but we had a lot of mutual friends in Los Angeles – so through the small world of Facebook, we were able to link up after the whole casting announcement came up, and we actually grabbed lunch before we even started filming, before we left. So, we went to a place in L.A., sat down for about two hours, and after the initial twenty minutes of ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m a part of this; Oh my God I can’t believe I’m a part of this!’ After twenty minutes of us geeking out together about how cool it was, we really dug in and talked about Peter and Charlotte’s relationship and their relationship to the other vampires. You know, because the covens are such an interesting thing, they call the nomads a coven but really it’s Peter and Charlotte versus the world. You know, so we talked about really diving into the relationship, back to Maria [in Eclipse] and back to the newborn army and their relationship with Alice and Jasper, and it was just nice that by the time we got to Louisiana together, we already had the seeds of this relationship planted, you know? It was really nice. I love Valorie.

I absolutely loved Erik! Such a great guy! I’m a huge basketball fan too so I had to throw in about my home state of Kentucky and UK for winning the national championship this year! Plus he lived in Kentucky! Holla’! Go Big Blue!

I really can’t wait to see him and Valorie as Peter and Charlotte. I wish Stephenie Meyer would write more about all these vampires backstories especially Peter and Charlotte.

Thank you Erik for a great interview!

New Face Fridays Interview with Toni Trucks (Mary)!

New Face Fridays Interview with Toni Trucks (Mary)!

Welcome to another New Face Fridays interview where your favorite Twilight fansites interview the new vampire cast in Breaking Dawn Part 2!  This is a great way to get to know the new cast!

This week we interviewed the beautiful Toni Trucks (beep beep) who plays the American nomad Mary.  She is an absolute sweetheart!   Check out her new character poster for Mary too!  WOW!  Gorgeous!

Q: There’s not a whole lot of information on your character in the books, so did you have any conversations with Stephenie [Meyer] or even with Melissa Rosenberg, or did you get to build a lot for yourself?

Toni: We did get to build a lot. I did pull Stephenie aside – I think a lot of us did – and Stephenie was, I mean, how rare to have contact with the writer right there every day with us, so it was such a treat. But she really gave us the freedom to create the characters that we needed to do the daily work, with the disclaimer that what we needed to do to get the work done may be different than what would possibly end up in like the ultimate Twilight Guide and stuff like that. So, she definitely prepared us for that, but she gave us the freedom … She told us what she had written and then gave us the freedom to do whatever we wanted to do, and I remember at the time when I spoke to her, she was like Edi Gathegi’s the perfect example because she had written pages and pages of his back-story, and he’s going to be really surprised when the Guide comes down. It’s totally different, but you know you kind of have to marry what’s written and then you have to do your job.

Q: What can you tell us about Mary, can you describe her?

Toni: Sure! The thing I loved most about Mary is it’s such a treat when you get introduced to all of these new vampires, and a majority of them are coming in pairs. You know, they’ve got their mates. And even though you have Peter and Charlotte within the nomad family, our coven is not really a coven. We don’t travel around together, we truly are nomadic. I love that Mary … comes of her own volition. She doesn’t have any real prior relationship, and when her job is done there … You know, she’s not going to come back for Christmas. That’s not Mary’s M.O. And the whole idea of this like family unit for Mary is really foreign. And so she truly is a nomad. She is a wanderer. She doesn’t need to sleep in the same bed every night. But you know she is one of their strongest friends so ended up valuable.

Q: Mary comes upon Randall – they’re not coming together, they kind of meet up – I’m curious will we get to see any of that, or is it kind of going to be you guys showing up together? Because you guys are nomads, you are generally on your own…

Toni: It’s so tricky, right? Because you guys have already read the books. So, there’s so much of that which is going to be interesting … what those tiny wonderful details that the people that are so intimate with the books are going to be looking for. I can’t really speak to what will ultimately end up in there, my guess is as good as yours really, so I guess we’ll just have to all wait and see together!

New Face Fridays Interview with Joe Anderson (Alistair)

Welcome to another New Face Fridays interview where your favorite Twilight fansites interview the new vampire cast in Breaking Dawn Part 2!  This week , we interviewed Joe Anderson who plays the solitary English nomad vampire whom is friends with Carlisle.

I absolutely adore Joe!  I’m a huge fan of the Beatles and Joe played Max in Across The Universe (one of my favorite films).   Here’s part of  our interview with Joe!

How much did you know about Twilight before you auditioned or before you got the part?

Joe Anderson: I wasn’t living on Mars so I knew a lot about it. Friends of the family as well were a little younger than I am, young girls, and they were huge, huge fans so when they found out that I was going to have something to do with it, my street cred went through the roof. So there was a gathering and watching of films together and getting excited about it. I’d seen all of them (the movies) I think by the time I was shooting in Canada.

Does that mean you haven’t read any of them?

Joe: No, you know interestingly enough, no, I did pick around the books. The interesting thing with Alistair is that the way he is used in the film versus the books is slightly different. For me it was more about taking this rather aloof character and developing him. And as an outsider, you know I wasn’t part of the previous movies, so I sort of felt like I had a bit of room to kind of play with this guy because none of the other characters quite knew what to expect and what have you.  So it was quite freeing – quite fun to sort of go in there and really sort of invent something.

Joe was wonderful!   I was very excited to interview him.  I had to ask him about Across The Universe and The Grey.   ‘Hey Jude’ was my favorite in Across The Universe.  I’ve heard it sung a million times, but Joe singing ‘Hey Jude’ was just simply amazing.  ’Happiness Is A Warm Gun’ was also my favorite.  :)  I’ve never cried and screamed so much watching The Grey since I gave birth to my kids!  LOL!  Great movie.   Plus I’m a huge fan of Liam Neeson!
Here are the clips of Joe in Across The Universe….. *sigh*

New Face Fridays Interview with Guri Weinberg!

New Face Fridays Interview with Guri Weinberg!

Here we are again for another New Face Fridays interview! Together with all our favorite Twilight websites, we interview the new vampire cast in Breaking Dawn Part 2! This Friday we interviewed Guri Weinberg who plays Stefan from the Romanian Coven!

Here’s part of his interview!

Question: What did you think of your costume and your makeup the very first time you saw yourself
fully decked out as your character?

Guri: Well I loved it. I mean it was a little freaky but I loved it. It was exactly what Michael, who is the
head wardrobe guy wanted when we first met and we put on the wardrobe. The eyes were a little
weird, cause I don’t wear contact lenses, so it took them half an hour to put them in and then it took me
another good half an hour to see through them. So when I actually figured out what I looked like, I was
pretty happy with it.

Question: You had never worn contacts before? That’s got to be a crazy situation.

Guri: Ya, it was awful. But because we had a whole department of people that handled the contacts and
put them in our eyes. The first two weeks it would drive them crazy because it would take them a good
half hour to put them in my eyes and they said you know we are never going to get through this and I
said well you should try to be me.

Guri was hilarious!  Love that guy!  Must read his interview!  I just wish at the end of the interview I said GFY to him because he started all that. LOL!

New Face Fridays Interview with Noel Fisher (Vladimir)

New Face Fridays Interview with Noel Fisher (Vladimir)

Okay, so it’s New Face Fridays on Monday. :) Together with other favorite Twilight fansites, we get to interview the new vampire cast in Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Last Friday’s interview was with Noel Fisher who plays Vladimir from the Romanian Coven in Breaking Dawn Part 2! Last Friday Team Twilight hosted the interview. Here’s part of the interview!

It’s been a really good year for you professionally, with playing a great character on Shameless, and then the role of Cotton Top on Hatfields & McCoys. What made you pick a 3000 year old grumpy vampire? Why did you want that role?

I actually booked Twilight before Shameless or Hatfields & McCoys, but obviously the Twilight franchise is in a world of its own, a class of its own. It’s really really different from anything else I’ve ever done. And that’s something that I try and do with my parts, kind of pick parts that are really different from one another and I’m also just a huge geek at heart, too. I love vampire stuff, I love fantasy/sci-fi, and all that kind of stuff so it’s right up my alley. That was another lucky thing. I get to play like a 3000 year old bad-ass vampire. That’s awesome!

You filmed Hatfields & McCoys in Romania and you played a Romanian vampire in Breaking Dawn. Did you feel a special bond with the country when you were there filming?

I don’t know, I basically thought it was a really funny coincidence that I was going there just a few months after Twilight wrapped. I thought that was quite funny. We shot near Vlad the Impaler’s actual castle, which isn’t really a castle anymore. It’s basically a bunch of rubble now, but some of the drivers in Romania were telling us that just a few miles from where we were was a pile of rubble that was actually Vlad the Impaler’s old spot. So I thought that was kind of cool.

Great interview with Noel!  Must read when he ripped his pants.  LOL!

New Face Fridays Interview with Marlane Barnes (Maggie)

New Face Fridays Interview with Marlane Barnes (Maggie)

Here we are for another New Face Fridays interview! Together with our favorite Twilight fansites, we got to interview the new vampire cast in Breaking Dawn Part 2 to get to know more about them.

This Friday, our interview is with the lovely Marlane Barnes who plays Maggie from the Irish Coven. Maggie posses a unique gift of knowing when someone is lying. Here’s part of Marlane’s interview!

Q:  Your character Maggie knows when people are telling lies. Are you good at telling when people are lying to you in real-life?

Marlane: I like to think I’m a pretty good judge of character now. I feel like that’s one of the things that acting has done for me is you get to see when people are acting.

Q:  Did Stephenie Meyer talk with you at all about your character?

Marlane: You know, I actually didn’t talk much with Stephenie about my character on set, I know that Lisa [Howard] did, but yeah I didn’t really get a chance to do that. I was interested that when I read the – cause you know she put out that comprehensive fan book – and I was interested to see that a lot of the choices I had made for Maggie were pretty similar to what she already had in mind, so I feel like we just kind of both knew… that we were on the same page.

You can read the rest of Marlane’s at Twilight Facebook!

Wonderful interview!  Can’t wait to see her Breaking Dawn Part 2!   Check out all the previous New Face Fridays!

Tune in next Friday!
