Carter Burwell mentioned the piece he wrote for Edward and Renesmee in Breaking Dawn Part 2 in a recent interview.

At what point in the filming process will you come onboard? Is the film usually finished by the time you see it and set the score?
Generally, I don’t actually write anything until a film has actually been shot. But, there are some exceptions.
In the movie I’m working on right now, which is “Breaking Dawn: Part II,” they needed Rob Pattinson and the actress who plays his daughter to play piano onscreen. I had to write this duet before they shot the film so they could actually learn the parts. Rob is a musician, so he prides himself on working out the fingering for these correctly.

I’m so excited to see Rob and Mackenzie performing together in this scene. It’s such a sweet daddy/daughter moment in the books.

    I have to read the book again.  I don’t remember the “daddy/daughter” moment in the book.

    I can’t wait to see this part. To D. Martin that part was in Renesmee’s memories when she was filling Bella in on what she missed and knowing all the film’s history they’ll probably add a new one to.

    Thanks K.A.B.   Hmm…I don’t remember that.  I thought he never left Bella’s side while she was going through the transformation.   I recall that Bella counted his breathes as a way to focus on not screaming.

    It’s a bit later in the book I think, they are playing the
    piano together after Bella has changed. I think it happens after Alice leaves.
    But I too, will be reading the book again. So excited either way for part two
    to be released!!

    I am uber excited for this. I can’t wait. I am especially excited to see little Mackenzie take on the role of Renesmee. Speaking of Renesmee – did anyone notice in the movie how at the VERY end when everyone was looking up after they heard that Bella’s heart had stopped, that Rosalie was holding Renesmee? To me it looked like she hadn’t aged at all. This kind of bothered me because she should have appeared to have grown quite a bit in the two days it took for Bella to change.
     
    I am also curious how Breaking Dawn Part 2 will open. I really want it to open when Bella is still changing and we really get inside her head and feel her pain. But at the same time, it would be really cool if it opened after she was changed and she opens her eyes, and you see everything from her perspective. Kind of like how it is described in the book ;)

    I don’t remember this being in the book. But I don’t care if it isn’t. This is actually an added scene I wouldn’t mind seeing. I think it would have actually happened (if it’s not in the book) and I think it’d be really sweet and cute. I’m excited to see them both playing and some Daddy/Daughter bonding!

    Do you think it’s strange for me to say that this scene is the one i am most looking forward to bc instead of having action or drama or even sex *Ducks from throwing objects* it’s just a nice sweet, touching, heartwarming scene between a father and a daughter

    I have a theory on the whole Renesemee thing, and I think I may be right. I bet what they’ll do is keep Renesmee looking like an infant when Bella wakes up (in part 2) and then they will begin her transformation the next day. I think they’re doing it for continuity issues. If they just randomly start part 2 (or finish part 1) with Renesmee looking like a toddler, it might throw some people off (new viewers). So they will probably begin her super-growth when Bella wakes as a vampire, and the days that follow.

    I just finished the book about 2 weeks ago (for like the 40th time lmao) and that scene wasn’t in the book, or if it was, it was just quickly mentioned. I would definitely know if that was a big scene in the book. It definitely wasn’t.

    He was still in the same room – Bella sees herself  lying on the bed in the background “unconscious” while he sings her a lullaby.

    This scene is going to be adorable but so heart warming and breathtaking with Renesmee and Edward playing a duet. The most sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. Tissues will be needed!

    The only scene I can think of is after Charlie’s first visit with (vampire) Bella.  As Charlie is leaving he takes one last look into the house and Edward is playing the piano.

    You are correct.  They have hired a few (not sure the exact number) younger actresses of various ages to portray Renesemee’s stages of growth.

    Remember the confrontation between Bella and Edward with the latter saying “I can’t leave without you!”. Then Bella saying “But you will have a part of me”. That is referring to the birth of Renesmee after she die. Then on Breaking Dawn part 2, Edward will have this sweet daddy/daughter moment? huhuhuhuhu!….. i’m crying already!
