According to The Hollywood Reporter, Breaking Dawn Part 2 reached $340.9 million global opening this weekend!

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 topped the worldwide weekend box office with $340.9 million opening, including $141.3 million domestically from 4,070 theaters and $199.6 million internationally from 61 markets. It’s the best global opening in the history of the franchise, thanks to massive international business.

In North America, Breaking Dawn 2 wasn’t able to match the $142.8 million opening of The Twilight Saga: New Moon on the same weekend in 2009, but it did open ahead of the $138.1 million grossed by The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1 on the same weekend last year, thanks in part to especially strong Saturday traffic and an A CinemaScore.

Overseas, Breaking Dawn 2 opened well ahead of previousTwilight films in almost every territory.

Breaking Dawn 2 drew more males than any previous title in the series, who made up 21 percent of those buying tickts. In terms of age, 50 percent of the audience was 25 years and older, reflecting the aging fanbase.

AWESOME!  Love that more males are going!!

Is this not the best film in the Saga??  All the emotions!

How many times have you seen it this weekend?  How many more time will you see it again?  I can’t get enough!

If you don’t mind me asking, what age range are you referencing? I’m 31 and get excited over Twilight more than anything else. Before BD2 came out, my daughter (11) & sister (16) would look at me like I was a weirdo when I would squeal at the commercials LOL

I try not to listen to them but sometimes they make me so mad! People should have better things to do with their lives than to bash something that people obviously cherish. Darn internet trolls!

  • admmgz

I’m jealous! I’m in Orlando, FL if you or anyone else is in the area! :)

I’m hoping I can squeeze in a few more times & still have $ for The Vampire Diaries convention coming up

The Complete Film Archive is awesome!! I just wish that they would’ve released it AFTER BD2 so that it would’ve included more from that movie like the different clans, BTS, etc. I also would’ve liked for them to have used different images as the cover art (IMO, the Eclipse promo pics weren’t the best of the bunch) & I know it’s another minor detail but they didn’t include the BD2 soundtrack on the music listing- they said it was still being worked on at the time of the book release.

Does anyone know why Mark Cotta Vaz didn’t do a movie companion for BD2? I always loved those…

Kristen will always be the perfect Bella no matter what. I love that she finally got to have some onscreen vamp fun with the rest of the cast :) It was great to see Bella come into her own. Kristen really portrayed Bella’s evolution to a T

I finally saw the movie on Monday! And then again yesterday! That’s twice already. And yep I’m planning on seeing it again.
And again and again and again! lol. Can’t help it either! lol

  • static25 BD4ever

Thanks! And I’m really glad you like BD more now!
As for the short story, I’m not on facebook and can’t view it.
    Any other link?

  • static25 BD4ever

I’m so glad there are others who view it in the same way! Thanks!

    Well hello there!!

  • TeamSpaceHeaters-Paulex[Mar09]

    Indeed!!!

  • TeamSpaceHeaters-Paulex[Mar09]

Yes it takes a movie to come crawling out of the bottomless pit of work I have been drowning in!! That and it’s all over :(
And yes not bad, not bad at all….That 8 pack is doing mighty fine in BD2….just seeing him strip for Charlie, I was all woooooaaaahhh!!

I went to see it twice on the release date and again Wednesday. Notice something more every time, love that, and I tear up more now in anticipation of the wolves dying, straight after the shock I still feel losing our beloved Cullens! This time I’m sure when Charlie went to see Bella they played the theme that we heard when Bella went to the dance studio in Twilight. The irony – it played when she was in danger and now she is the danger (to Charlie)! I’m sure I also keep going back because I just don’t want it to be over …. soon the cinemas will not be showing any more Twilight Saga! But we will have the DVD forever.

Oh please let the Director’s Cut versions be on the way soon!!!!!
