Breaking Dawn Filming News: The Swan House!

According to Vancouver’s Newsgirl News, the construction for the Swan house (exterior) for Breaking Dawn has started!

Construction started early this morning in Kerry Park in Surrey. Twilight fans will be thrilled to learn that filming will return to British Columbia mid February. The Swan House was a location fans flocked to see during filming of both New Moon and Eclipse. The house is just a shell of a house with no interior decoration or structural design. The art department hangs the drapes and puts a lamp in the front window but the interior of the house is an empty shell. The interior shots of “The Swan House” are filmed on a sound stage.

I first reported seeing the locations team at this location last fall. I was on a Movie Location Tour and I asked my guests if they would like to see the lot where they set up the house. Upon our arrival at the lot I was surprised to see a couple of familiar faces. They were have a location meeting. At the time I was sure they would return in 2010 to do some filming but they filmed Breaking Dawn in Baton Rouge through the winter.

The house will take about 7 to 10 days to complete. A large chain link fence surrounds the property and several No Trespassing Signs are hanging on the fence. Security at this location is quite high due to some naughty fans trying to collect a small bit of Movie History.

There are three large trees that have to be planted in front of the house and then a large tree outside of Bella’s bedroom window. Some of the landscaping has been completed and the driveway going down to the underground garage is also complete.

Exciting news!! February is just around the corner!

I didn’t mean to rain on your parade… I just thought it was kinda sad. Probably a bit bittersweet for all the folks who’ve worked on the films from the beginning. Such an incredible thing to be a part of. = )

No. *sniff* I’m alright. It is bittersweet. I can’t wait to see Breaking Dawn, but then again I don’t want it to end.

I agree. We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed for Midnight Sun (not that I think they will ever make a movie out of it but the book would be good!) And thank god for fanfiction! LOL

omg – this is exciting Question, though – did they film the Christmas scene in the Swan house elsewhere? I can’t remember.

Well, I am glad to see that the house will be going up although there are not a lot of scene’s done in the house, except for Bella trying on her dress after returning from filling her before car up the day before her wedding, Charlie in his tux with Alice and then Christmas time with Renessme while Bella goes to Seattle to get the legal papers for Jake and Nessie. Unique Jenique I think they may already have filmed the indoor part in Baton Rouge at least that is what I think it meant when they said its filmed on a sound stage above.

There’s also before Edward goes to his “bachelor party” and when Bella and Edward are telling Charlie they’re engaged.

It really blows that I can’t watch the REAL offical trailer of the movie, maybe they won’t put it out because the movie stinks and they don’t want you to know about it

This is just surreal! Cannot wait to see what ” before ” car Bella will be driving which I hope they show that since it’s in the beginning and I would assume since they are building her house that they have to have external shots-Right?? There really is only a couple of shots needed so this will be interesting to see-oooo, I can’t wait!! : )
