Breaking Dawn ty 280x350 Breaking Dawn Casting News: Ty Olsson To Play Phil Dwyer ty olsson phil dwyer breaking dawn casting We previously posted Summit announcing the supporting cast in Breaking Dawn including Ty Olsson.  Summit didn’t announce what role the supporting cast will be playing.   The Twilight Examiner, Amanda Bell, reported Ty Olsson will be playing Phil Dwyer, Bella’s stepfather.

In Twilight, Phil travels constantly playing minor league baseball, so he spent a majority of his time away from his new family. Because of this, Bella chose to move to Forks with her biological father, Charlie Swan, to give Renée and Phil time to be together. Eventually, Phil was able to get a contract signed with the Suns, a minor league baseball team in Jacksonville, Florida, and he and Renée moved there together.

In Twilight, Phil was played by actor Matt Bushell.   

I didn’t think Ty was playing Jason Jenks.

    I figured he would play Phil.
    I guess this means Wendell Pierce is playing J. Jenks. Idk how I feel about that….I always pictured someone like Paul Guilfoyle playing J. Jenks. Google him.
    But hey, Wendell’s great on The Wire, so he could do it. ;) It’ll be great.

    lol!! me too!!! i was like… phil??!! who is phil??? and i re-listed all the vampires in my mind… until i read the description!!! awwww poor phil!!! we forgot about him and he IS the main reason why bella moves to forks!!!!! i mean with out him bella would maybe have NEVER met EDWARD!!! OMG!!!!

    but yeah he seems to look like the guy that we saw in Twilight as Phil (for like, 2 seconds) so not a big deal that they changed characters.

    kinda was a big deal to me when in Twilight they had those 2 randoms at La Push and then Jacob suddenly had hot friends in NM. but meh.

    this guys hot so hopefully he can act for the 1 or 0.5 of a scene that he’s in.

    P.S. ummm Renee…. you must be good in bed…

    lol!! he was at the wedding… remember when bella says goodbye waving from the car while she and edward are going to the honeymoon that she says phil at renee’s back with his hand on her waist or something like that and renee was holding charlies hand???

    Yeah I barely remember what he looks like.
    And it’s been like 3 movies. Who would notice the change? XD
    Maybe his voice might be really different. I remember 1st Phil’s voice.
