Breaking Dawn Casting News! The Amazon, Egyptian, Irish & Romanian Covens! The American & European Nomads!

Summit Entertainment has announced more Breaking Dawn casting!  The Amazon, Egyptian, Irish and Romanian Coven and the American and European nomads!

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN — Casting Update

Summit Entertainment announced today the following have been cast in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN for roles in The Amazon Coven, The Egyptian Coven, The Irish Coven and The Romanian Coven as well as the American and European Nomads as outlined below.

THE AMAZON COVEN
·        The Amazon Coven is comprised of Tracey Heggins as Senna and Judi Shekoni as Zafrina.

·        Among the oldest vampires in the world, Senna and Zafrina are descendants of an ancient Amazonian tribe.  They have lived outside of civilization for centuries and therefore make no attempt to keep up a human facade. Though they drink human blood, the Amazons have long been allies of Carlisle.

THE EGYPTIAN COVEN
·        The Egyptian Coven is comprised of:
o        Omar Metwally (RENDITION, MUNICH) as Amun.
o        Andrea Gabriel (Lost, House) as Kebi.
o        Rami Malek (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) as Benjamin.
o        Angela Sarafyan (LOVE HURTS, THE GOOD GUYS) as Tia.

·        The Egyptian Coven consists of Amun, Kebi, Benjamin, and Tia, with Amun as the leader. It is stated that even though they are not a biological family, they could pass for one. Amun is extremely protective of his family and fearful of Aro.

THE IRISH COVEN
·        The Irish Coven is comprised of Marlane Barnes (THE TREE OF LIFE) as Maggie, Lisa Howard as Siobhan and Patrick Brennan as Liam.

·        The Irish Coven, a relatively young group, was founded by Siobhan and Liam, but Maggie’s talent made her an important element of it. They are not vegetarian but they are civilized.

THE ROMANIAN COVEN
·        The Romanian Coven is comprised of Noel Fisher (THE PACIFIC, FINAL DESTINATION 2) as Vladimir and Guri Weinberg (MUNICH) as Stefan.

·        The Romanian Coven is one of the oldest covens in the world and they were the ruling vampire family until they were unseated by the Volturi.  For that reason they harbor a centuries old resentment of the Italian coven.

THE AMERICAN NOMADS
·        The American Nomads are comprised of:
o        Lee Pace as Garrett (Pushing Daisies, THE GOOD SHEPHERD).
o        Toni Trucks (MUSIC AND LYRICS) as Mary.
o        Bill Tangradi (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as Randall.
o        Erik Odom as Peter.
o        Valorie Curry (Veronica Mars) as Charlotte.

·        Turned during the Revolutionary War, Garrett has chosen to live a nomadic existence, wandering the world on his own. Garrett has never lost the rebellious spirit of his human life, and loves a good fight, always rooting for the underdog. Though not a vegetarian, Garrett is among Carlisle’s closest and oldest friends.

·        Mary and Randall are American nomadic vampires.

·        Peter and Charlotte are nomadic vampires and mates.  They were created during the aftermath of the Southern Vampire Wars, in which Jasper was a key player.  They have remained friends with Jasper ever since.

THE EUROPEAN NOMADS
·        The European Nomads are comprised of Joe Anderson (THE CRAZIES) as Alistair

·        A nomadic vampire from England, Alistair has a misanthropic, brooding personality and a deep mistrust of all authority.  Although he counts Carlisle as his closest acquaintance, he doesn’t visit more than once a century.

Ooops!! I just realized that I had Kichiri and Senna confused. Who I was saying was not essential is the Amazon vamp who came to the Cullens with Zafrina, which I now realize is Senna, not Kichiri, who has already been cast. That leads me to believe that they will announce Kichiri at the same time they announce casting for Nahuel and Huelin – who is actually the one who tells the story of Nahuel because that is his Aunt. Once again, Kichiri never speaks, but having her there explains how she was able to find Nahuel.

As for Garrett, I love him, too, but I also think his role is important. Sure it could have been written out, but I would be pissed if his speech to the Volturi wasn’t in the movie. Having that speech will help emphasize the point that the Volturi did not just come to uphold the law, but to destroy the Cullens to meet their own means. Garrett’s role was much more important that they cast not only a pretty face but a skilled actor, because he really needs to pull off that speech. I’m thrilled they got Lee Pace for the part.

I totally agree with you about the Denalis being left out previously. I’ve had some thoughts on how it could be explained, but I don’t want to dwell on it so I don’t get my hopes up. We’ll just have to wait and see how MR fixes her screw-up.

And, yes, I could go on all day about everything Twilight and thank goodness for this site. My friends and family are sick of hearing it. My husband will not even let me mention Twilight related subjects in his presence!

  • teamhardwick

yeah, you’re right,I watched the Marmaduke clip, he improves when looking at him…he’s still not quite the Garrett I imagine, I had someone tall and thin with a long face and shining eyes pictured in my head, and with long hair, and the difference was just too big. Maybe he’ll be ok with make-up and costume!
as for nahuel, go check out the comments page for the cast of nahuel, there’s some weird stuff going on if you ask me, some crazy fans of aldo try to brainwash you completely.

  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)

They weren’t made up, I know that. As many characters are in this book it would be ridiculous to make up any new characters. I just flipped through a few parts in BD and as far as I can tell they did not speak, except perhaps when everyone was declaring whether they would only witness or if they were willing to fight. They were both American nomads who were friends, but came separately.

  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)

Well, I must correct myself. I just realized that I had Senna and Kichiri mixed up. I was saying that the Amazon vamp who came with Zafrina was not essential, they could have just made Zafrina come alone, and then the other Amazon show up at the end with Alice. However, now that I have them straight, my guess is that if they cast Senna who never spoke, they will announce Kichiri at the same time they announce Nahuel and Huelin. They seem to be announcing them in the groups they appear in the books. First the Denalis, then the vamps who come to the Cullens house, and hopefully soon, those that Alice returns with.

  • EAD_TwistAArmpitHair

I think I like everyone! Pretty much dead on choices for me, at least! Loving the looks of Vladimir and Stefan. I can’t wait to see those creepy vamps played out! LOVE Lee for Garrett. He’s perfect. And pretty hot! lol

  • EAD_TwistAArmpitHair

I really hope it’s not too much of a battle. Yes, I would like to see everyone’s cool powers, but this is the entire point of BD.. using wits instead of strength. I just hope we get to see Benjamin’s gifts. That’s a good one to have! lol And Bella’s shield should be cool.

  • Seif

wait wait wait…18? =S…wasn’t Nahuel like…didn’t he look fourteen-ish? I need to go back and check…Didn’t he say he stopped changing physically soon after he hit puberty? I’m lost!!!!!!! Lol

  • Anonymous

I cried too! ;) I don’t remember I’d sobbed soo much ever before! I couldn’t stopped it! Even my mum scared and asked me whether I’m okey ;)

  • Anonymous

I had the same thing! :) But I still cry when I read it! It’s soo… sad, breakthrough and moving. ;C

  • Talin ~ Garrie

    -.- katastrophal

  • JaspersAngel

In all honesty, I *tried* to reread BD, but I could get past the beginning of Jacob’s POV :(

  • http://www.breakingdawnmovie.org BreakingDawn

    you hit the jackpot :D

  • http://www.breakingdawnmovie.org BreakingDawn

Seriously!!!! thats why most of my friends who haven’t read the books dislike her! :(

  • QueenAnnie- Magic Hour Indeed

quickies can be satisfying too!  you don’t have to take hours to be fulfilled!  hahaha

I pretty much get on, check the new posts & if there is anything I really want to comment on I take the time.  otherwise I’m in and out.

  • RileysGirl_You were worth it<3

completely agree with you. like i said above, in some ways im glad they didnt fight, but in others i think it would have been nice to see some action.

i think the reason SM didnt have a fight is that you have to kill off at least one of your main characters to make it plausible, and i just couldnt stand to see any of the cullens killed!

  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)

I think Jacob’s POV is kinda cool, but I understand how it can be annoying. It’s 180 degrees from Bella; how could anyone ever think they were meant to be I’ll never know, LOL. Sometimes I just skim through and read my favorite parts. It starts like this: wedding, Isle Esme, Bella’s transformation ; )

  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)

That’s exactly how I feel! I’m always surprised to see how many fans wanted a battle. I mean, as I was reading it I was sure there was going to be a battle, but once Alice saved the day I was relieved and then it all made sense. It was a battle of wits and the strongest players won.

I want to see Benjamen’s gift, too, and I would also love to see Zafrina’s visions – like in the training exercises!

  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)

Glad you are giving Lee a second chance, but I do think it’s funny that you say you pictured Garrett “tall, thin and with a long face.” I had to re-read it because I thought you were describing Lee and saying it was nothing like Garrett. Lee pace is 6’3″, very lean, and IMO he has an attractive, narrow face – but I don’t know if that’s exactly long by your definition. You know, the first time I ever saw Lee Pace was in Soldier’s Girl. He played a transgendered drag queen with whom a Soldier fell in love and was beaten to death for it by a fellow soldier. True story and a very good, but sad, movie. Anyway, he was amazing in it.

I’m trying to get caught up on everything here and just glanced at the Nahuel post. I haven’t read very many comments, but I must say that I immediately felt Raj Patel looks much more otherworldly than Aldo, and that’s how Nahuel should look. I don’t care if he isn’t Latino, he has the dark skin, beautiful face, and bottomless pools for eyes. Raj has my vote!

  • Anonymous

LOL. Yea so agree with you, I mean isn’t he like only a couple of years younger than him (despite the whole immortal thing?), rather inappropriate and wierd imo.

But on another note, for those who are wondering about Kachiri, remember people that Alice forces the coven to seperate and she attends them in their search for Nahuel..Only Zafrina & Senna stand as witnesses to the Volturi.

  • Anonymous

    You’re right.

And if everyone would recall their BD books, Alice asks the amazon coven to seperate so Zafrina & Senna attend as witness while Kachiri goes to help search for Nahuel. As 3rd wife mentioned, she’ll probably be cast when Nahuel does

  • Anonymous

Maybe those who Alice returns with will be mentioned after they cast the Volturi. I dunno about you but I’m soooo STOKED to see who plays the malicious and rather pretentious vampires!!!!!!!!!!

  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)

As far as I can remember, there were only a few of the Volturi mentioned that we haven’t already seen. Renata, Chelea, the wives. No one that plays a huge role, so it doesn’t really excite me.

  • http://disqus.com/BECullen/ BECullen

I’m really excited to see Alistair (Joe Anderson) & Amun (Omar Metwally) =D
And also… Wasn’t Siobhan suppose to be on the plus side??? The actress who’s playing her doesn’t look it at all!
“Siobhan is described as having a huge body that moved in smooth undulations and was both beautiful and mesmerizing to watch.” -Twilight Saga Wiki
I was also kinda hoping for some one else to play Maggie tho.
Not too sure… I have to admit I was expecting more ‘known’ ppl… =/
But I have to say I have 100% confidence in Debra Zane. She is amazing at casting… =)
I guess we will only truly know if these are great choices or horrible choices once we actually see the movies. =D

  • teamhardwick

Lee Pace just seems too…bulky, he’s got broad shoulders and chest, I imagine Garrett lean. Same with the face, Lee has a somewhat square shape, I imagined an oval one. but as I said, make-up and haor could make a lot of difference, especially the hair! yeah, agree on everything you said abour Raj, he’s more exotic and magnetic. I know Nahuel should be perhaps more innocent looking and younger, but hey, I prefer hot guys to kids, let’s face it.

  • newborneyes

ok I do accept everyone zafrina, peter and charlotte fits my imaginary ones

  • Y@n3tith@

remember that they are making 2 films and that is why we are missing nahuel and the other amazonan plus more wolves to be exact love the way you said about the haves and needs also the MR makes her scripts more out of the book and not her own!!!!!

  • EAD_TwistAArmpitHair

I hope to see all of their powers played out in some way. And perhaps it will be nice to maybe add a few things.. maybe Felix can get a beating from one of them in justice for what he did to Edward! LOL And Jane could use a good fall on her a$$!

  • EAD_TwistAArmpitHair

She likes happy endings. She couldn’t bring herself to kill any of them. True. Unlike JK Rowling, who had the b*lls to do it. But they are totally different stories. HP is so dark and powerful. Twilight is meant to be light, romantic and witty. I can’t compare the two.

  • ROBPATTZ_WIFEY

The meteor speech Ed gave B? I loved that…that wasn’t hokey. This “son” crap coming from Edward was. It seemed force. Edward has bella sure, but lets not forget he’s not crazy over the whole J imprinting on Renesmee thing… So yeah, I think it was a crap line….I may be the minority here on THIS site, but trust I am among the masses in the Fandom as a whole.

  • SC~3rd_Wife(TeamSM)

I’ve heard a few people say that the meteor speech was corny, but I loved it. Just checking.

The way I understood it, Edward was accepting that Jacob was his only hope for his daughter’s survival and they had gotten much closer, especially since Renesmee’s birth, so he does look at him as a brother. He knows when Nessie is full grown Jacob will still be there for her. Then again, when I sit and analyze it I start to think it would have been better if he left it at ‘brother’!

  • bd2011

what about the rest of the cast? like the other bad vamps, the girl jacob meets and j jenks as well as a few others. are they going to tells us about them or do we have to wait for the movies?

  • ROBPATTZ_WIFEY

Exactly! Leave it at brother Edward…..what guy admits to calling their little girl’s bf, or future bf “son”? Oh the one that;s about to intimidate the hell out of said boy.

  • Curtiecue

i agree i freaking cracked up. i could totally picture like a spamalot actor being all dramatic with that. “My brother…. my…………SON!!!!!” lmfao
    J. Jenks bored me, i wouldnt mind if they changed that up a bit, but everything else is pretty good right now. i love maggie she is so cute.

  • Curtiecue

    What meteor speech?

  • ROBPATTZ_WIFEY

The one he gives Bella when they are on their way to his family’s house so that Bella can get everyone to vote to turn her in NM. He gives her the speech of how dark his days were when he broke up with her. He tells her that before he met her his life was a dark sky with hardly any light. Bella changed that. Look it up bb!

  • Brokndwnhalo

Has anyone thought about casting Milo Ventimiglia? I think he would make a great character!

  • TheFallObsession

Seriously, you gotta see Pace’s the movie called THE FALL…Lee Pace is a heavenly handsome man, got a voice to die for, 6’3″ tall, and super-sexy…his handsomeness is Majestic…(but he’s not that photogenic)

even Rob Pat is nowhere near him (i don’t hate Rob)

  • TheFallObsession

seriously, you gotta see Pace’s movie called the THE FALL…..Lee Pace is a heavenly handsome man, got a voice to die for, 6’3″ tall, and super-sexy….his handsomeness is Majestic….(but he’s not that photogenic)
