Breaking Dawn Casting Rumors: Lee Pace To Play Garrett?

E!Online has reported that Lee Pace (known for his role in Pushing Daisies) is rumored to be the front runner for the part of Garrett in Breaking Dawn. However, Gossip Cop is trying to bust this rumor -

An E! Online report claims the former “Pushing Daisies” star is “thisclose” to being cast as a vampire in Breaking Dawn. Specifically, Pace would play Edward Cullen’s pal Garrett, who has “a lightness and element of humor about him.”

“Lee is the top person in the running to play Garrett,” E! quotes a source as saying.

Gossip Cop suspected it was premature to call Pace — or anyone else — “thisclose” to the role, and it looks like we were right.

A production source tells Gossip Cop no one has been cast, and a rep for Pace informs us the actor has not been approached.

So while it’s certainly possible that Pace tops a current wish list for producers, Summit, or director Bill Condon — much like Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s loose “connection” to Batman 3 — Pace’s casting shouldn’t be considered imminent.

    I'm more concerned with who they are going to get to play the Irish coven. Please please please cast REAL Irish actors and not English/Scottish/American actors who will inevitably end up sounding like demented leprechauns. It would really ruin the film for me!

    It happens all the time in movies and drives me insane, surely they can round up three Irish actors in all of Hollywood. I'm happy to volunteer my services if they can't find anyone ;)

    I was hoping it would be someone a little different than him…
    but who knows.
    might turn out to be a good Garrett…
    I had been thinking more along the lines of Jason Lewis – “Smith” from 'Sex and the City' …
    But that's just IMO…
    As long as the actor they end up using portrays what's in the book I'm happy… Even if it's some one new to Hollywood…
    I hope they use some 'known' ppl, not super 'known'… But still continue with the slightly 'known' or new-comers =D

    Yeah, I know. But but when i`m read the host is his face that i imagine as Doc.
    And i do like Lee. But my imaginary Garret is more wild. Lee is so cute and look so nice guy, but not wild.
    But he´s a actor. He supose to be anyone he wants, righ? : )

    I could see him playing Garrett. I was a fan of Pushing Daisies and I definitely think he could pull it off. It's fun to see who might play who though regardless of if he gets the role or not.

    I saw in a moviefone interview, Kellan mentioned how SM should write all of Emmet’s story (he bounced out of his chair!! :) ), and then he said he would be happy to play Dr. Carlisle 10 years down the road when the remakes come out!! I would LOVE it if SM does back stories on everyone and/or continues with the saga….. a girl can dream :/

    i actually would like Emily de Ravin as Tanya she has great chemistry with Rob on Remember me and she is gorgeous thus when Bella looks jealous we will see why. It would be a fun inside joke.

    I never pictured Garrett to be as beautiful as Ryan or Jason. More of the tall, gangly type. I think Lee is great.

    I agree, hes not perfection. Edward is the only perfection in the book, along with the cullens. Plus i like it more when they cast actors who are nobodys, then twilight turns them into major stars…. But at the same time i havent read bd in a while, i need to, but i dont remember much about the people from all of the different covens. I know its sad for a twilight freak to say it, but its true! =((

    I have to say, he's really nothing like how I ever pictured Garrett. I pictured Garrett as older, more refined. Like 40's or something. Greying hair. But Twilight has never casted actors in roles like I imagined them in my head. And I've always been impressed with the casting. So I'm willing to see what he can do with the role. If he plays Garrett, I'd love to see Kate Beckinsale as Kate. I think they'd look good together.

    yes, they were… But was it the romanians who left? because i think i remember one coven leaving….. they are on my list, along with tanya for being so flirty with edward…. lol the trio wasnt my favorite, but they have a story to tell, and a reason…. but they still need to learn to get their act together… especially tanya…. u dont flirt with a man at his WEDDING!!! gosh!
