E!Online has reported that Lee Pace (known for his role in Pushing Daisies) is rumored to be the front runner for the part of Garrett in Breaking Dawn. However, Gossip Cop is trying to bust this rumor -
An E! Online report claims the former “Pushing Daisies” star is “thisclose” to being cast as a vampire in Breaking Dawn. Specifically, Pace would play Edward Cullen’s pal Garrett, who has “a lightness and element of humor about him.”
“Lee is the top person in the running to play Garrett,” E! quotes a source as saying.
Gossip Cop suspected it was premature to call Pace — or anyone else — “thisclose” to the role, and it looks like we were right.
A production source tells Gossip Cop no one has been cast, and a rep for Pace informs us the actor has not been approached.
So while it’s certainly possible that Pace tops a current wish list for producers, Summit, or director Bill Condon — much like Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s loose “connection” to Batman 3 — Pace’s casting shouldn’t be considered imminent.

He currently doesn't look anything like how I pictured Garrett, but I thought that about most of the Cullens before the first movie came out ( I mean Peter F. looks nothing like Dr. C in real life) but with costume, make-up, hair and contacts I can see this actor transforming into a pretty good Garrett.

I adore Lee from Pushing Daisies it was a great quirky romantic show and for the ones that haven't watch it the show:
Pushing Daises was like a forensic fairytale where Ned (Lee Pace) has the power to bring back things to life with a touch, the power has a rule he can't bring back things more than one minute because then something of equivalent value dies on its place and once he touches them again they die forever no chance to bring them back with his power, he uses this to solve murderers by asking the victims who killed them while their last last minute runs, while he owns a pie shop called the Pie Hole. His first kiss and childhood first love (Anna Friel) is killed he brings her back to life to ask who murdered her, but he cannot bring himself to touch her again and she still loves him too. So they end up escaping the funeral home, and Ned tries to protect Chuck and they had the sweetest relationship but they can't touch, because he might kill her. His best friend is sarcastic detective Emerson Cod and his best friend Olive Snook is in love with him, but he only sees her as a friend.
So girl with no friends leaves her family and risks her life every second just to be with around the (beautiful) man she loves and that protects her from the truths and thinks that might hurt her, specially himself…sounds familiar?

I'm more concerned with who they are going to get to play the Irish coven. Please please please cast REAL Irish actors and not English/Scottish/American actors who will inevitably end up sounding like demented leprechauns. It would really ruin the film for me!

I have to say, he's really nothing like how I ever pictured Garrett. I pictured Garrett as older, more refined. Like 40's or something. Greying hair. But Twilight has never casted actors in roles like I imagined them in my head. And I've always been impressed with the casting. So I'm willing to see what he can do with the role. If he plays Garrett, I'd love to see Kate Beckinsale as Kate. I think they'd look good together.

Lol, that would be interesting! And it would give Breaking Dawn that much more publicity. I think they should have more know, but really good actors to play the 24 vampires. And if you've seen the “Turn, Turn, Turn” CSI episode, you see that Taylor Swift can act. A couple Oscar winners, maybe. And with Bill Condon directing, and Stephanie finally becoming part of it, people might finally what we love seriously.
