Bill Condon Sends A Message To Fans Via Facebook!

Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 director, Bill Condon, recently shared a message via the Official Twilight Facebook, for all the fans -

Hello fans!

Has it really been five months (and a day) since my last dispatch? In my defense, they’ve been five months spent immersed in the world of TWILIGHT – something I’m sure you can all appreciate. We’re in the thick of pre-production now, juggling everything from casting to storyboarding to location scouting, getting it all ready to go, but I do want to take a moment to announce to you exclusively a few of the amazing production team members who are hard at work alongside me, bringing these movies to life. I hope you’ll be as excited about them as I am:

Guillermo Navarro, who won an Academy Award for the beautiful PAN’S LABYRINTH, is our cinematographer. Guillermo and I have been painstakingly planning each shot, with a team of very talented storyboard artists.

Michael Wilkinson, our costume designer, is bringing his brilliant vision to the styles of all your favorite characters. Michael’s created fantastic looks for 300, WATCHMEN, and the upcoming TRON: LEGACY – just wait ’til you see his take on the vampire witnesses who come to Forks from around the globe.

Jean Black, our makeup designer, has worked extensively with the Coen Brothers and David Fincher, most recently making exquisite, award-winning contributions to THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON. I’m honored to be working with her.

Richard Sherman, with whom I made GODS AND MONSTERS and KINSEY, is on-board as our production designer. Richard’s one of my oldest collaborators and a terrific designer, and you may be interested to know that he also happens to be a lifelong vampire aficionado.

Our Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor John Bruno has been responsible for some of the most memorable special effects ever, with his groundbreaking work on display in everything from POLTERGEIST to AVATAR. He and his team are working intensely to develop solutions to the host of special effects challenges that Stephenie created for us in BREAKING DAWN, including that remarkable kid…

Wonderful, imaginative people all and very exciting, intense times for us. Even with the months of work we’ve already put in, we’re barely underway on the journey, and I do hope to get back to you much sooner next time with more news. Until then, thanks for your warm reception and continued support!

I love how Bill gives us these awesome updates to pump us up a bit out of our BD withdraw depression. I love how he takes the time out of his day, now and then to let us know what is going on.
I sounds like they got the best of the best for this. If this movie isn’t slamming then.. I’ll be surprised because they have all of these talented people to help. There’s no way they could fail. I wish them the best!

I have not seen any of his movies except dream girls and I didn’t LOVE it. So I don’t really know how he does things but I have faith in him. This film will be EPIC not perfect for us lol but good enough… hopefully..

Well, BD the book I don’t care for. That is putting it lightly. But from the changes I heard, it sounds like they are tweaking things where they need to be desperately tweaked. I love the look of Mackenzie Foy.

And I love that Condon is helping MR with the script. And having all of these Oscar nominees will definitely help.

This looks promising. I am having hopes.

We really don’t have anywhere to go but up. Eclipse was really good, so we shall see.

Finally, some type of news that RC is going through the next process! Ladies, we have 15 more months to go….it’s like freaking eternity till BD comes out next year

Yeah. A part of me wants it to be leaked but at the same time, I want to be surprised. :9 I’ve never read any of the scripts that were leaked so if it was leaked, I guess I wouldn’t read it. . .

That’s an amazingly talented team they’ve put together! Though I’m sure it didn’t take TOO much hair pulling; everyone’s dying (no pun intended) to join the Vampire Phenom. I’m sure Stephanie is just pleases beyond recognition… I would be too, if a small midnight dream turned into a franchise of this magnitude!! I’m even excited about the Costume Designer! Keep the good news coming!

i hope they revisit the volturi, and with the help of makeup AND special effects, can recreate the proper skin-texture, and milkyness of the eyes!!

Bella will never have red eyes, she is not a human blood drinker. She will have golden and black eyes depending on whether she has just hunted or not.

she does have red eyes in the beginning when she a newborn – her eyes change to gold slowly – their like orange at one point in the book

I believe we have a top notch production crew and director this time. Hopefully these two movies will be the best of the bunch. I hope there is plenty of romance and more interaction with Edward while Bella is pregnant. It was mostly left out of the book. Excited, however, don’t like the year between the two movies. That is much too long. Nite

all newborn vampires have red eyes, according to stepenie meyers books. in the case of the cullens (denalis) when they dont feed on human blood, then the colour fades to a golden-brown. However if you would have read the books you would know that since she has to wear contacts to hide her eye colour when having a visist from charlie ( her dad)

Twilight is the movie that after the sucess of the books, truly made the story become known and loved. I hope you have read the books, since they differ very much from new moon and eclipse. Twilight is the only one who stays true to the books spirit, even though it leaves out a lot and they added other things.

What both new moon and eclipse have completely forgot about is edwards thoughts about Bella, essentially Bella and Edwards love story is lost in the later move interptations. Maybe due to the fact that S.M didnt continue the novels she started from edwards point of view, wich is sad. But maybe these later directors should have re-read midnight sun, just to get an idea, it could be applied to all the rest of the books.

I think that love and that true self sacrificing mentality is what got us all to fall in love with the books and the characters.

Its sad that with more money, the movies do not necessarily get better. and with all the practical tasks at hand and all the special effects, the movies seem to focus more on fight scenes etc then the spririt of Stephenies stories.

Lets hope Bill will take some time and read the books especially edwards way of thinking in the draft of midnight sun and that he can adapt this to the love story, especially in breaking dawn 1.
