Chapter 32: Company
“Kate probably didn’t understand, never having known for herself the passion of a mother for her child. She must have not realized just how far past too far she’d already gone. I was so furious that my vision took on a strange reddish tint, and my tongue tasted like burning metal. The strength I usually worked to keep restrained flowed through my muscles, and I knew I could crush her into diamond-hard rubble if she pushed me to it.”
Well the more the merrier…I guess. The Cullen Manor seems more like a studio-sized apartment now that more and more vampires are arriving. Peter and Charlotte have arrived per Alice, but they had no idea what they were about to see. And just as they trusted Alice to travel so far, they also trust Renesmee and are willing to help out.
Pg. 608-609 We get introduced to Carlisle’s pals from Egypt and Ireland. Siobhan, Liam and Maggie of the Irish coven arrived first. Maggie having the ability to instantly know if she’s being lied to; accept Renesmee’s story and the others agreed. Amun and the other Egyptian vampires were another story. Even after two younger members of his coven, Benjamin and Tia, had been convinced by Renesmee’s explanation, Amun refused to touch her and ordered his coven to leave. Benjamin-an oddly cheerful vampire who looked barely older than a boy and seemed both utterly confident and utterly careless and the same time-persuaded Amun to stay with a few subtle threats about disbanding their alliance. Amun stayed, but continued to refuse to touch Renesmee, and would not allow his mate, Kebi, to touch her, either. More…

Chapter 31:Talented
“I stared at Eleazar, my brows furrowing in confusion. Shield? What did he mean about my blocking him? I was standing right here beside him, not defensive in any way.”
Discussions, discussions, theories, and more discussions! The Denali’s and what’s left of the Cullen’s and Jacob continue to discuss, debate and eventually test theories.
Pg. 594-597 “A very talented family,” Eleazar murmured as he paced. “A mind reader for a father, a shield for a mother, and then whatever magic this extraordinary child has bewitched us with.” “Excuse me,” Edward said in a stunned voice. “What did you just call my wife?” “A shield, I think. She’s blocking me now, so I can’t be sure.” “A shield?” Edward repeated, bewildered. “Come now, Edward! If I can’t get a read on her, I doubt you can either. Can you hear her thoughts right now?” Eleazar asked. “No. But I’ve never been able to do that. Even when she was human.” “Never? Interesting. More…

Chapter 30: Irresistible
“Tanya skittered back four steps, her strawberry curls quivering, like a human confronted by a venomous snake. Kate jumped back all the way to the front door and braced herself against the wall there. A shocked hiss came from between her clenched teeth. Eleazar threw himself in front of Carmen in a protective crouch.”
With the majority of the Cullen clan either vanishing or out on tour, Bella, Edward, Renesmee and Jacob are left behind to do the dirty work…so to speak.
Pg. 572-582 The first few pages surround our little coven and all the drama that has taken place. Bella and Edward take a timeout after Renesmee has been put in her crib, and focus on each other…for the rest of the night. Jacob and the crew head back to the house the next morning. Edward goes into extreme detail about the Volturi since Bella has asked Edward to teach her how to fight. This is where Edward confesses he has a vendetta against Demetri, for Alice of course. If Demetri the world’s best tracker were out of the picture, then the entire Cullen clan would be free to run and Jasper and Alice wouldn’t be missing. More…

Chapter 29: Defection
“I’d always thought of the Cullens as a whole, an indivisible unit. Suddenly, I remembered that it had not always been so. Carlisle had created Edward, Esme, Rosalie, and Emmett. Edward had created me. We were physically linked by blood and venom. I never thought of Alice and Jasper as separate-as adopted into the family. But in truth, Alice had adopted the Cullens. Both she and Jasper had known another life outside of the Cullen family. Had she really chosen to lead another new life after she’d seen that life with the Cullens was over?”
Alice is gone, and this is the hardest chapter I’ve ever had to read since Chapters 2 & 3 in New Moon. Let’s just get right into it.
Pg. 554-557 We sat there all night long, statues of horror and grief, and Alice never came back. We were all at our limits-frenzied into absolute stillness. Carlisle had barely been able to move his lips to explain it all to Jacob. *The next day has arrived, and still no sign of Alice and her family is in a state of shock. Even our patriarch Carlisle is as still as a statue. The sunlight broke through the back windows, sparkling on Edward’s skin. My eyes had not moved from his since Alice’s departure. “Alice,” he said. “She’s been gone a long time,” Rosalie murmured, surprised. “Where could she be?” Emmett wondered, taking a step toward the door. “She’s never taken so long before,” Edward said. “Carlisle, you don’t think-something preemptive? Would Alice have had time to see if they sent someone for her?” Emmett cussed loud enough that Jacob lurched to his feet with a growl. More…

Chapter 28: The Future
“I felt I knew the answer to Carlisle’s question, and yet at the same time I didn’t. Renesmee was the reason why, I was sure. Somehow I’d known from the very beginning that they would come for her. My subconscious had warned me before I’d known I was carrying her. It felt oddly expected now. As if I’d somehow always known that the Volturi would come to take my happiness from me.”
Well, this is bad…very bad. Irina has traveled, saw, and ran…to who has yet to be seen, but I’m sure, when we all read this book for the first time we knew it was not going to be good.
Pg. 540-543 *Alice has seen in her visions, that Irina had come to make peace with the Cullen’s, but stumbling upon Bella, Jake and the baby. Carlisle and the allegedly super fast Edward Cullen were unable to catch up to Irina. Alice’s vision grew even hazier in the passing days. Bella began preparing for her trip to Italy to meet with the Volturi, then the family’s trip to Brazil. Alice moved slowly-for her-around the big room, unnecessarily tidying the already immaculate space, straightening Esme’s perfectly hung garlands. She was recentering Esme’s vases on the console at the moment. I could see from the way her face fluctuated-aware, then blank, then aware again-that she was searching the future. Staring at Renesmee again, I didn’t see it when the vase slipped from Alice’s fingers. More…

Chapter 27: Travel Plans
“Even in the short time I’d known Aro, I’d been able to see that he was a collector-and his most prized treasures were his living pieces. He coveted beauty, talent, and rarity in his immortal followers more than any jewel locked in his vaults. It was unfortunate enough that he’d begun to covet Alice’s and Edward’s abilities. I would give him no reason to be jealous of Carlisle’s family. Renesmee was beautiful and gifted and unique-she was one of a kind. He could not be allowed to see her, not even through someone’s thoughts.”
Apparently Three months have passed, and Bella reflects on her immortal life so far. Everyone seems to be this big happy family. The wolves are even cool and Quil and Embry have joined Jacob Black’s pack!
Pg. 525-527 So it seems Sue Clearwater and Charlie are growing even closer as she helps ease Charlie into this new mysterious world thanks to Bella. Sue finds herself hanging out at the Cullen home just as much as everyone else. Leah Clearwater is now officially Jacob’s second in command and their relationship is a million times better. Speaking of relationships, the one between Bella and Jasper makes me smile.(you know, considering he tried to kill her a couple of books ago
) Happiness was the main component in my life now, the dominant pattern in the tapestry. So much so that my relationship with Jasper was now much closer than I’d ever dreamed it would be. More…

Chapter 26:Shiny
“I was amazing now-to them and to myself. It was like I had been born to be a vampire. The idea made me want to laugh, but it also made me want to sing. I had found my true place in the world, the place I fit the place I shined.”
Well Charlie has gotten over the initial shock of…everything I suppose. I tell ya only a parent’s love would put up with this chaos, and I think we all love Charlie even more. Not too much going on in this chapter except for Bella kicking Emmett’s behind!! Here’s a quick recap.
- Pg. 512-513 With a rumbling stomach, and two-full ball games watched, Charlie heads to his car. Bella and Renesmee are right behind him. Charlie suggests that they keep the secret from Renee…for now. Bella agrees. Apparently Sue Clearwater has been cooking for Charlie…hmm More…
