An eerily realistic figure of Taylor Lautner joins Robert Pattinson at the Madam Tussauds wax museum in London.

US teen heartthrob, Taylor Lautner, is the first celebrity of the year to join our A-list Party area. A brand new wax figure of the Twilight sensation was revealed standing shoulder to shoulder with co-star, British actor, Robert Pattinson – BUT the pair will only remain together until fans have selected which one should take centre stage in their very own exclusive area.

The dashing figure mirrors Lautner’s relaxed style with a jean and leather jacket combo paired with his trademark sultry expression. The figure took four months to create at a cost of £150,000.

Visitors to the attraction will cast ballots over the next week to decide which of the two figures will have a more prominent position in the display and the winner will be named “The King of Hearts.” RPattz has the hometown advantage, but the Lautner figure looks much more lifelike. Who do you think will win?

Probably True Rumor: Breaking Dawn Part 2 Trailer to Premiere with Hunger Games

Breaking Dawn breaking dawn 2 trailer premiere hunger games 600x302 Probably True Rumor: Breaking Dawn Part 2 Trailer to Premiere with Hunger Games hunger games featured breaking dawn trailer breaking dawn part 2 Before Lionsgate bought Summit, The Hunger Games trailer premiered on the big screen with Breaking Dawn Part 1.

Now that the studios are united, I think it’s safe to assume the trailer for Part 2 will premiere with The Hunger Games on March 23, 2012.

Think of the synchronicity: The Hunger Games is going to be a huge event, and the date is ideal-it’s after the Target preview on February 10th for the DVD release and before the traditionally Twilight-friendly MTV Movie Awards on June 3rd.

Just imagine: if the stars align, we might receive three huge Edward-filled presents over the next three months!

Lionsgate Buys Summit Entertainment for $412.5 Million

Lionsgate Buys Summit Entertainment for $412.5 Million

Breaking Dawn Image 300x299 Lionsgate Buys Summit Entertainment for $412.5 Million twilight summit entertainment lions gate featured Last week, Lions Gate purchased Summit Entertainment for (insert Dr. Evil’s voice) $412.5 Million. Mwhahahaha!

From LA Times:

Bringing Hollywood’s two biggest independent film studios and the blockbuster young adult franchises “Twilight” and “The Hunger Games” into one powerful entity, Lions Gate Entertainment has agreed to acquire Summit Entertainment for $412.5 million in cash and stock.

The two Santa Monica-based companies have engaged in on-and-off merger talks since late 2008 as Lions Gate has sought to bolster its library of film and TV properties and Summit’s investors have tried to find a way to cash in on the lightning-in-a-bottle success of its “Twilight” movie series, which has grossed $2.5 billion worldwide over four films.

The acquisition will provide a windfall to Summit’s investors, among them Ebay co-founder Jeff Skoll’s film company Participant Media and private equity fund operator Suhail Rizvi’s Rizvi Traverse Management. Summit’s investors previously received a $200-million dividend as part of a recapitalization in early 2011.

—–

In an announcement issued (last) Friday, Lions Gate said the majority of the purchase price would be funded by cash on hand at Summit. The rest will be paid for by $55 million of Lions Gate’s cash reserves, $45 million from new debt issued by Lions Gate, and another $20 million of cash or stock that Lions Gate must issue within 60 days.

Summit comes into the deal with about $200 million in net debt, which is secured by that studio’s existing assets and will not be assumed by Lions Gate.

Summit was in net debt?  Wow.  I know we’re a week late posting this.  What are your thoughts?  How will this effect Breaking Dawn Part 2?
